New Jersey.

Only been to Newark to see Arsenal play the Red Bulls but I have to say that it just looked all sorts of miserable.

The city of Newark is probably the least appealing, and the worst city in the country. The best part of town is Newark airport and the industrial seaport area. The downtown area is worse than Detroit by a country mile.

Buffalo is making a comeback. I've got a friend who works here in the summer, lives there in the winter. May stay there when LSU plays Syracuse.

Vermont is awesome. New Jersey has to be the easy answer.

My least favorite has to be Mississippi. Folks go out of their was to display their racism. I've never experienced anything of the like.

Nicest folks are in TN and GA. LA, CA, CO, NY, all have wonderful scenery and people and food. But if I had to live in one the rest of my days it would be TX, it's home and we have it all.

This questions is too vague. You could find various aspects of any given state you dislike, but also find things you do like.

Lets just put some basic categories out here:
People\social attitude
Geography
Weather\Climate
Economy
Cost of living
Taxes
Etc...

I could give you numerous states that I dislike in any of the above categories, but none that would ever overlap enough for me to say man that state is the absolute worst.

Lets start talking about specific categories. For example, North Dakota would suck arse for climate and geography, but would be good for business/economic reasons.

Lol. Well I originally had LA as the exception, but there's cool people there. As a kid I spent the summers on the peninsula with my aunt. She lives in Palos Verdes and I'd go to hermosa a lot with my cousins, so I don't really know LA proper enough to evaluate.

My first love was from MS and a tri delt at state. I'd go visit, and being more melanin enhanced than she is, we'd get comments and stares regularly thrown in our direction. had one guy outside a Waffle House yell "that ain't right" as we walked out together holding hands. Went over to ask what he was referring to he mysteriously forgot. She would frequently call me after visits crying because some frat boy or other who saw us together spread rumors and called her a **** lover or other horrible name. One guy who had a crush on her found out she had a black bf and tried to sexually assault her. The series of events that year completely fricked up our relationship.

Na, New Jersey still takes the crown. Outside of the fact that I've seen a good show at the Tweeter Center (or whatever it's called now) in Camden, I can't think of anything redeemable about it.

That is horrible to hear. I am not originally from Mississippi but have lived here twice over 15 year span. Fortunately I havent had to deal with much overt racism*. However, my best friend is very highly educated African American clinician and his only issue has been reactions to inter-racial dating.

* The 2 racial issues that I felt compelled to take action while living in MS, the people in question were diehard State fans.

Least favorite... hmm. I wouldnt characterize any as "least favorite", but some are just "meh".

Probably Texas. As much as the locals brag, I have honestly not seen anything there to be that impressed with and I've been all over that state.

Fraid you are going to find that all over the united states. Younger people dont have too much of an issue with it, but people that are older than that still may. And thats not just a southern thing.

I'd agree with that older generations have a real hard time accepting inter-racial dating but younger generations are hit or miss as well. My sister is adopted and I have had to deal with ignorance all my life. Unfortunately, I've found younger people lack the ability filter their thoughts and it is compounded exponentially if they grow up in a climate that is not accepting of diversity. That being said, we still have pockets of people that claim one thing is public but are actually the opposite in private.
