Kansas was awesome. Wichita is probably one of my favorite cities. Big time into basketball and has a great bar district with a down home feel. Can't knock Kansas after living all over the south. Kansas shits on the south in a lot of ways. I mean, when you compare it to Mississippi it's not even a fair comparison.

I've spent time in Wichita, Hutchinson, and Kansas City, and while Kansans may be nicer than most southerners, there's a lot more to do in MS.

Yea: he says WV is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Ranks it #13. Has nothing bad to say about it.

Like Wyoming, I just didn't get enough time there. It was unbelievably beautiful to drive through, but that's all I got to do. I didn't really get to visit any towns or cities or interact with many people.

Says LA really drags CA down bad. Ranks CA #4.

Would have been a runaway #1 with the beautiful pristine wilderness of northern california, kickass San Diego, wine country, ect. Los Angeles is one of the worst cities in America, along with Atlanta.

So you've been to Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia but never been to either Carolina? You're missing out.

I agree. I was supposed to go several times, but plans got scuttled at the last minute. I'll probably be heading out that way 2 summers from now to check out Charleston.

And then there's Louisiana. No explanation but is #1.

Louisiana needs no explanation, baw.

But really, I'm from there, still live there. I love New Orleans like no other place on earth. Uptown, Midcity, the Bywater, Warehouse District, heck, even the Quarter all have hidden gems and holes in the wall filled with culinary and cultural treasures. I love the people, food, culture, music, festivals, ect which is entirely unique. I love the small towns like Breaux Bridge, Plaquamine, Gonzales, and Covington. Lafayette is a fantastic small city (in my opinion, one of the best in America for its size), Lake Charles has Darrel's, Baton Rouge has...traffic, but that's besides the point!

It's just a really great place to live filled with really nice people. Plus, I like the fact that literally anywhere I go between Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and the North Shore, there is literally a 99.99999% chance I will run into someone I know. I find that comforting, though I know a lot of people don't like that. I also like knowing that in my calendar, from now until mid June, there is a festival or major event scheduled every damn weekend. Pretty great to have an excuse to drink, listen to live music, and eat a great meal every week.

What's wrong with Nebraska?

My favorite description of Nebraska I ever heard was:

Driving down the highway all you see is: Corn, corn, corn, football stadium, corn, corn, corn...

I hope people on this board that I have never and never will use the word "baw" in a serious context. it is only ever meant as a sarcastic jab at those who do use it seriously on this forum. Thank you.

Indeed. If anywhere is the Mississippi of the North, it's got to be Western PA

I don't understand how you can hate Texas.

I mean, sure, Texas has way too many faux-elitists and assholes, but it's an awesome state.

There is no Mississippi of the north.

Vermont is awesome, unless you hate natural lakes and green mountains.

Burlington is too cold, but its a great town in just about every other way.
