Haven't read it, so don't have a concrete one. My suspicion is it is mostly another attempt to discredit the FBI and sow doubt over the Mueller investigation.

my opinion after following with great interest for a while and admitting to being a conservative, albeit not a Trump drone.

- I think that some how, some way Clinton's Campaign/FBI/somebody went looking for dirt on Trump.

- Fusion GPS came up with whatever they did, true or not. Russian ties, Golden Showers, hookers, etc.

- through whatever means, somebody at the FBI decided that warranted FISA surveillance on people in the Trump organization. it appears to have been approved/fast tracked by anti-Trump people in the organization.

- This did not go through normal channels. As far as I can tell, no true warrant for this has been provided. i'm open to being wrong on this, but it seems like this went behind closed doors and bent the law at best.

- There were some things that seemed to add up in the surveillance. Flynn and Manafort had some underhanded dealings. As it seems, they should be punished/exiled as such. Carter Page is a big nothing burger.

- i think the memo will show that people allowed a gross invasion of privacy from the FBI outside the law as well as Hillary's camp playing pretty dirty.

- nobody higher than Dep. Director of FBI will be punished for this. Lynch, Hillary, and Obama won't even sniff an interview from law enforcement or accusations beyond places like the Poli board.

It actually started during the primary season, so it was a Republican candidate, presumably Jeb Bush, that started the digging, via Fusion GPS. His team abandoned it once he was eliminated, and that's when Hillary's team took it up, also via Fusion GPS.

Supposedly, the original warrant almost 100 pages. The memo is only a little over 3 pages. I'm skeptical that a 100 page document can be accurately and concisely trimmed down to a 3+ page, bullet pointed memo. Given that the author of it also worked on the Trump transition team, I'm even more skeptical.

yeah. don't get me wrong. i'm not jumping for joy like the Poli board. i'm laughing at them getting their hopes up over this stuff. a few people at the FBI being fired/suspended is all that will happen despite all their hopes and dreams.

that being said, i do think illegal surveillance took place. Trump is a giant titty baby, but i think "they tapped muh wires" was a legit complaint.

I am old enough to have lived through Watergate and I have a problem when the political side tries to direct the law enforcement side. The folks in the FBI and CIA work for the government as a whole and not an individual that is subject to the frailties of power.

If either side was working with the Russian government to corrupt an American election it needs to be unfettered by the politicians who have a self interest. Let the FBI do their job and when the results are investigated and done, then they need to stand independent and proceed.

I'm not celebrating it for a "gotcha" since I've long lost any trust/hope for the parties. I do think this memo can set off a powder keg and I do think if people were breaking the law there needs to be some serious jail time.

Beyond that, if this memo has legs, the FBI has corrupted itself beyond repair and in my view has become a bunch of banana republic thugs.

It's my hope that if this is as big as I think it is since absolute power corrupts absolutely, this will be a watershed moment and we can seriously unclutter our governing bodies of people who look out for themselves first while forgetting what they are supposed to be doing.

Lastly, I have no illusions that Republicans are clean in any of this. They just haven't been brought to light yet.

I don't think we're too far apart on this. I don't think the FBI is completely clean in this, though I think most of their misdeeds were in the handling of the Hillary investigation, not the Trump one. I seriously doubt they illegally obtained a FISA warrant on a US citizen given the steps involved in obtaining one though. And I don't buy one ounce of the notion that they were and are working to bring down Trump.

Oh for frick's sake.

Most political analysts say it was CNN's dependence on the Trump campaign to generate ratings that allowed Trump to separate himself from the other, shall we say more qualified, candidates in the Republican Primary. When other candidates were praying for a 5 second soundbite clip to make the news CNN was cutting away to show full Trump rallies. Without, I might add, fact checking his statements or looking at his talking points in depth.

You want to point a finger at one institution that aided Trump's campaign you should point it at CNN. The early coverage they gave him far outweighs what Fox was giving him in those critical early months.

Jeff Zucker, the president of CNN, is also the guy that hired Trump for The Apprentice. Yes, surprise, surprise, surprise... the guy running CNN is the guy that gave Trump his big break on the national scene. Before that Trump was mostly famous for being the guy that utterly fricked up and destroyed the USFL.

Why, yes, here is a link to that. LINK

You might be a Trump supporter and if you are that's fine and dandy. But crying crocodile tears over how mean CNN has been to Trump when they were the ones who gave his campaign the lift it needed in the early days is BS. If you really love Trump then you should be down on your knees thanking God for CNN or Trump would be back in New York filming new TV episodes right now.

I actually have grown to like MSNBC more than CNN.

MSNBC is open about who they are. They make no apologies for their views.

CNN tries so hard to seem like they are middle of the road when most of their journalism is gotcha. Hell Van Jones is one of my favorites on there because he doesn’t try to act like he’s impartial.

And I don’t watch one iota of Fox News.

Sorry, it was mostly intended to be a joke.

I discredit CNN and MSNBC by default personally, but I was kind of joking with my post.

I think it's sad that our political leaders spend tons of money fighting over stupid things and wasting my tax dollars.

Oh I get it. They said something bad about Trump, well not actually bad about Trump, but about how the people he screams are fake news helped him to win.

I know. It hurts. The reality is Trump got elected in large part because he was such a good sound bite that the media fawned over him and ignored other, better suited candidates.

"Oh you are just upset Hillary lost!"

No. I voted for Clinton but only because I thought she was by a very small degree the lesser of two frick ups. I honestly can't think of anyone in this country who has ran for President in the last 30 years that was worse then both of them. Which includes a couple of porn stars I might add.

We failed as a country. Somehow a nation that has accomplished such great things put Trump and Clinton forward as the leaders of not just this great nation, but the free world.

Bush the Lesser. Obama. And now Trump. We are seeing the end of the American century. Not because some foreign nation defeated us in war. But because we have, for 5 Presidential elections in a row, elected the political version of Curly, Moe, and Larry. Only that is an insult to three great comedians.

I'd mock Trump but he is just a reflection of this country. The last three Presidents have almost zero political experience. If it wasn't Trump it would have been a women with only a smidgen more experience then him.

We have entrusted the care of this great nation to people we wouldn't trust to mow our lawn.
