Whataburger does not suck.

Houston, where I live, is getting incredibly crowded. But the place is rebuilding itself now and there is a ton of opportunity.

Closely related to oil and gas but there is a lot more to houston Than just that industry. A lot of people are moving to Houston and we will soon be above chicago in population.

Bbq is amazing.

I do think that some of the prettiest girls I have seen are in the deeper south. Texas has a lot of talent, but they all look very similar.

Longhorn fans are a bit obnoxious. It's more about social scene than football to them. Dated a longhorn and God forbid I mention anything sec related around Her ut friends.

Houston roads suck major d. They are horrible. Highways are good overall but population is overcrowding them. Can't enjoy em if it's stop and go all the time.

bbq is very overrated, but still pretty decent.

women are hot but not the best in the south.

fricking longhorns

Nicest roads in the USA

Tons of cities with shitloads of people...but I'm always left wondering "why do all these people live here"

Mostly correct, but a little FIFY'd

Has anyone mentioned that Texas is done, it's over?

Because Texas is done, it's over

Your mom seemed to like the Texas tea I gave her last night after I was done and it was over.

Dallas (arguably not Texas):
Fifty dollar millionaires
Leased luxury cars
Plastic surgery
Cool bars
Good restaurants
Good friends
Good times
A lot of arseholes, too

Houston:
Bad traffic

The rest of Texas:
Fort Worth is laid back
Great BBQ brisket (Kreuz Market in Lockhart may be the best)
Austin's music scene rocks and cool bars
The Hill County (inclusive of Gruene and New Braunfels) is a small Mecca
Big deer and great dove hunting (Crystal City)
A little trashy down at Port Aransas-but good fishing
Friendly people

I lived there for a while and still maintain business contacts there. I enjoy it when I visit.

Neutral. Lived there, nothing really special about the geography or the people. I can't blame citizens for being proud though, if citizens of every state had the same civic pride, maybe they would have less trash along the streets.

It's funny how widespread the opinion that Kruetz's is the best BBQ in Texas is. They have virtually no advertising but word of mouth, and Lockhart isn't exactly a major town.

We drive through Lockhart on the way from Austin to go fishing in Port Aransas. Always have to stop at Kreuz's. I can honestly say I gorge on brisket and smoked sausage every time. Then back in the truck and wash it down with some ice cold Texas beer.

I have plans to eat my way across Texas during retirement, and Lockhart is on my list.
