Stupidity. Plain and simple.

You should really get a clue. Any pot test shows only METABOLITES. These are only present from 12-24 hours AFTER you smoke pot. You are NOT "high" in any way shape or form. Also, these metabolites are in your system for a month. So you think that companies really should fire a worker for smoking a joint 3 weeks ago while they were on a fishing trip for the weekend? If you do then you are hopelessly stupid.

Then you are choosing to be stupid, which is the problem we are dealing with.

you have been duped by propaganda. my wife has smoked pot daily for years and she NEVER wants to have sex. last year I made her get a checkup just to make sure she still even had a vagina. she also holds multiple degrees and rarely misses work. she pretty much single handedly refutes reefer madness.

You can have up to an ounce in Mississippi and it's just a citation.
Mississippi is probably the most progressive on pot. I've seen cops give people their weed back at roadblocks because a small amount is no different than a tag light out.

i guess you never had a child who started on pot then progressed to coke and meth. its a gateway drug. pure and simple.
my son started on pot. he gradually moved to coke, then meth.
you can rant and rave all you want about the safety of pot but i don't buy that argument. at all.

So your son's addiction is your reason for wanting to keep something illegal that millions enjoy safely while not getting addicted to hardcore drugs? Do you think that alcohol should be illegal?
Do you really not see how stupid that is?

Ever think the problem is with your son?

Look, I've done just about every drug under the sun. Pot was not the gateway drug for me, alcohol was. Same was true for all my pot smoking friends. I never had a problem with addiction to any of them, including cigarettes. People that are prone to do drugs are going to do them. People that are prone to addiction are going to become addicted to them. Smoking pot doesn't make anyone more prone to snorting coke or smoking meth, nor does it make them more prone to become addicted to them.

Then alcohol should be banned as well...because alcohol is a far more harmful substance than pot.
People who have addiction problems are going to have those issues regardless. Coke and meth are highly illegal yet that doesn't stop people from doing it.

With the budget crisis that Alabama is currently in, legalization and taxation would be a huge boon to the state economy. We can't afford to pay for education and infrastructure, people refuse to have their property taxes raised.. to me this seems like an obvious solution.

Kentucky will never legalize pot even though growing it could bring the state's economy back from the losses of the coal industry collapse and the decline of tobacco farming. The Commonwealth could grow some fantastic ganja.
The federal government cannot impose the legalization of marijuana on states because it's use is not a civil right. It's identical to alcohol in this regard. Localities and states can opt to legalize it or prohibit its use in their districts. The same would go for MJ.

Sorry to hear about your son, but I seriously doubt it was the weed that gatewayed him. I started off with pot, and I think because of that, I never enjoyed coke, or the harder stuff...
That being said, I went to Colorado last year, Oregon this year. While CO has all the edibles and concentrates available for rec., Oregon has no mother fricking sales tax, and it was about half the price as I found in CO. Could be that CO prices have gone down since then, but I found OR weed much better and cheaper.
CO got that oil tho

Your son likely suffers from some sort of addictive personality or other mental condition. Sorry to hear.
If pot is a gateway drug then Alcohol is the highway running through it. buying, using pot showed your son the mechanics of illegal drug use, but getting stoned didn't make him want to do crank. Just like with food, money and pussy, moderation is the key.
I had one friend that I could make the same claim about who killed himself in 2011, but also have 10 or more others that smoked reefer that either quit, or still do use just pot. It's no way shape or form an excuse to blame your actions on.
It would be like me totaling a corvette and blaming my first bicycle.

Because Jesus doesn't want you to.
He also doesn't want you to say words such as frick, shite, dick, or pussy.
It's in the Bible.

I've been smoking 17 of my 32 years. I used to get high I went to work at Einstein's Bagels as a kid, but once you get a real job, where you use your mind, you can't smoke and be fully competent.

Nicotine, caffeine, or alcohol are much more likely to be the first drugs people try. Yet everyone that uses tobacco doesn't become a heroin addict.
