Generation Z- not enough data out yet but they are starting to vote and get jobs. I've seen more than enough of these kiddos and think they are going to give millennials a run for their money. No work ethic, extra spoiled, extra sensitive, basically a millennial to the 10th power.

GenX is the best still-living generation, definitely.

We have some Betos, but we built the internet, electric cars, private space flight, good rock music, good pop music, funny SNL characters, probably the best comedy in US history comes from GenX.

Considering the two cohorts we're sandwiched between, and our relative smaller size, we never stood a chance to impact the nation politically. Culturally, we've done well, and nobody gives a frick about us and we're fine with that.

Not surprising when so many of them came into adulthood during a major recession brought on by over zealous capitalism favored by baby boomers.

Yeah.

If only that were a decade ago and the economy had surged since then...

This. There just weren't enough of us to combat the insanity of the boomers and millenials. We put out some great shite, but now we're kind of tired of it all and just want to drink a beer and sit in our lawn chairs. Maybe smoke a little weed (which we developed the best strains of) and take a nap while the boomers and millenials wreck shite for everyone else.

We're collectively done with it all.

Not sure how that diminishes my point, but even with a surging economy, a lot of them are still straddled with massive student loan debt, and real wages have remained stagnant through the recovery. So even with signs of a strong economy, a lot of people aren't seeing the fruits of that, including many millenials.

I'm not really defending millenials. I've worked with them, and understand some of the criticisms of that generation. I'm just taking a step back and looking at the real world a lot of them stepped into post-high school and college.

Ima boomer and I agree that boomers are the worst, but not for the reason most say. Boomers for the most part were raised by the last truly poor generation. While our dads had jobs (few moms did) the wages were generally low and most in rural areas still clinged to the idea of the family farm, which was a big loser in the 60s and 70s.

They gave birth to the boomer generation. We had Vietnam, jimmy Carter and and gave birth to disco (which alone is enough to call God’s wrath down on a generation)

But for the most part, boomers built a strong economy and lived at a higher standard than our parents through the 80s and 90s. But our big, world crushing failure was giving birth to and rasing two selfish soul sucking whining crybaby generations. We did that. We wanted our kids to have more, but by not kicking them out of our homes and by fixing every problem they caused, we created a bunch of useless shits that can’t take care of themselves and blame everyone else for their failures. Our fault.

If you were a young adult during the 80's you were worthless. So them.

For anyone born in the late 70's/early 80's like me('79), I've always felt we didn't really fall into Gen X or millenials and somewhere in between. There are a lot of articles out there now that I think really show that.

I agree with this 100% a person born in 1980 is technically a “millenial”
But also someone that was born in 1996.

I see a huge difference between someone 23 and 38

yeah, i'm in that section born in '81.

I feel like we were born at the perfect time. We were able to grow up before the internet and social media really started to dominate our "coming of age" years, with a strong grasp of an analogue type lifestyle, but young enough to benefit from and incorporate the advantages of computers/technology/digital systems.

You could argue our generation was the one that may have made the biggest leap technologically in the history of mankind.
