Please tell me you're trolling.
What teen is super concerned with consequences? Nature is telling them to frick, and you expect a show to change their mind?
Also teens doing stuff in secret is a surefire road to awful decision making. If sex didn't make everyone so uncomfortable, maybe they could talk to adults who can actually use the rational parts of their brains.
The worldview you're posting from is unrealistic.

At least you're telling him to wrap it up. It's scary having girls. One of my friends was telling me about middle school girls having lipstick parties.

Yeah, my daughter is 6 and is told everywhere she goes how cute she is. I don't mean that as a humblebrag, but I do cringe at times as I don't want her self identity tied up in how cute she is. She already has issues with eating, mostly because she is extremely picky. I guess I'm comforted that her teachers say she is an accelerated learner, and she has a keen interest in the arts. Those girls usually grow up to be nerds, which I'm cool with her being. My wife still won't let me sign her up for the chess club though.

Ok, this was a thing that parents feared when I was in middle school and through MS, HS, and college, I have never met anyone who has actually been to one. Urban Legened, IMO.

I have to be the responsible one since his parents prefer to live like retards and in the dark about explaining things to him. They just try to forbid everything like he isn't going to sneak around them.

Well that's somewhat comforting.

I don't have a problem with the intent of a book but are the pictures really necessary? That's the only thing that bothers me about this in regards to 4th graders.

I didn't take it like that. I have the same problem with my two. More so the youngest because she has a big personality too, whereas my oldest is shy.

If you've raised them with any sense of dignity, they'll be alright. I do know a few stories, though, that fricking haunt me for if I one day have daughters. Teach them to respect themselves before they respect anyone else.

I don't think the public education system needs to be teaching on sexual issues. I don't understand why that can't be left to the parents.
Most people that have sex know what a condom is and could figure out how to use it. I don't get the whole "teach them to be safe" campaign.

maybe a year or so early, but not that big a deal. I mean at 13 half of them are probably already looking at porn.
And what could be wrong with that? Amirite?

Young teens make awful decisions. Period. It's one reason we don't let them vote or sign contracts. Giving them data on STDs and showing them pictures of how to put on a condom is tilting at windmills.

Progressives are convinced that the government is better parents than parents.

In an ideal world this would be the case. I think the problem is the eroding family in the US.

At worst is the same as teaching them abstinence only.
At best some teens may make better decisions.
Attempts to minimize teen sex are tilting at the same windmills, just riding in the opposite direction.

Let's look at the southern states teen pregnancy rates, and we'll see how well abstinence only education is working.

in america it is fairly close, that isn't an endorsement for the gov though because we just have a lot of shite head families here.
