I know I have already made this thread, but that was a long time ago now and I just realized while I was searching for information on another subject that I may have come across some of the strongest evidence yet that we do, in fact, live in a simulation.

Did y'all know that until recently the color blue didn't even exist? Sounds crazy, right? I thought so too. I mean, the frickin sky is blue. Water is blue.

But apparently, until very recently, we didn't have a word for "blue" and even as recently as 1851 we didn't see blue. Herman Melville in his classic novel Moby Dick never uses the term blue to describe the ocean and instead refers to it as "wine colored" or dark red.

LINK

The proponents of this "blue is a recent addition to our visual perception" theory don't quite make the jump to simulated reality, but to my warped mind that's exactly what it means.

We create our reality with our thoughts. Blue didn't even exist until we defined it. Until we wrote it's code.

I believe this too. I don't believe in Christianity God, but my actual creator. I appreciate the religion, and the way we should live life, but hard to believe when looking at things.

And for those people, that isn't an attack, you have your faith and rights to your beliefs.

"A researcher named Jules Davidoff traveled to Namibia to investigate this, where he conducted an experiment with the Himba tribe, who speak a language that has no word for blue or distinction between blue and green.
Blue squaresVidipedia/Himba colour experiment
Namibian tribe member participates in a research project.

When shown a circle with 11 green squares and one blue, they couldn’t pick out which one was different from the others — or those who could see a difference took much longer and made more mistakes than would make sense to us, who can clearly spot the blue square."

"But the Himba have more words for types of green than we do in English.
When looking at a circle of green squares with only one slightly different shade, they could immediately spot the different one. Can you?"

"For most of us, that’s harder.

This was the unique square:"

I don't view this as an attack on religion at all and instead it only emboldens my faith.

The old adage is that the scientists of the world climb the mountain of progress for millenia only to find on its summit clergymen who have been sitting there all along. Adage, parable, whatever the hell you wanna call it. I just paraphrased some bullshite I heard once. But I think it's pretty apt.

So why me and I really don't feel like I have a purpose? I'm a good guy, husband and father. But I'm not as smart as I could be, I could do more daily, and what not. What's our purpose here in this situation and who are our Gods?

I mean, I don't know anything for sure. I'm not an expert about this or anything else really. But I can say, that from what I can tell, this is all a game that nobody loses. Weird as it sounds.

In this version of reality (from my perspective), one could consider this an eternal game that's been created simply to pass time. Where each living thing is a small portion of God and the sum of all things amount to an idea God had once.

It's no coincidence that the mapped universe looks like a brain cell.

Each person has their own path. Young souls are assholes while old souls are wise.

There's all sorts of level ups involved. New worlds to explore. All kinds of shite. And magic is definitely real.

And then there's the angle of simple probabilities.

We are currently building our own simulated universes.

So...If we can build universes, how many can we build? Hundreds? Thousands? At which point does it become a mathematical certainty that we live in a simulated reality vs the true reality?

Lots of shite involved in creating just my circulatory system, let alone this planet or our solar system.

Much more likely it's a created thing rather than a happenstance.

The computer simulation deal is an interesting theory. I've seen some that connect our dreams to being our actual reality and our "waking life" as being in a program.
Of course, if it's a program, are you living the same life if you run the same simulation? Does this explain the deja Vu one ocurrs from time to time, memories of previously running through this simulation before? Weirdest type of dejavu I've had is when I dream about a place before I've ever been there. Can happen years in advance.
Then of course this gets into the "you only use X% of your brain" as well. When youre asleep, can your brain comprehend things in more than 3 dimensions? 4th dimension being time?
The human map thing being like galaxies also relates to as above so below
Anyway, reliving the same life over and over in a program sounds gay, but then I replay certain Vidya occasionally so, there's not much difference there I guess

I don't know about deja vu. But I figure it's pretty close to precognition (which you eluded to with your dream story), and I know that precognition is a recognized phenomena at this point. They've done studies where they've measured the body's response to something like a mild electrical shock or a pinprick fractions of a second before the stimulus is introduced randomly.

ESP is a very real thing.

And I can't really think of a model that better explains stuff like that than a simulated one.

But that's what makes it cool as shite, because as I said in a previous post, that means magic is a real thing too. Call them program hacks. But that's part of the bag.

Screw magic, let me hack this thing and bump up my stats.
ESP is real. Kinda a weird concept.

Well that's what I mean. I think they'd be one in the same. Shamans been practicing matrix hacks for thousands of years.

To bump up stats.

Does anyone know how to use it on animals? I need to find out where the deer go when I’m hunting.

I don’t get how stuff like this is easier to believe than a creator... I mean I do get it, if creation is true then the rest of the Bible must be true and there are things there people don’t like or want to hear. God created you, loves you, and has a great purpose for your life. Don’t live an empty life.

Don't worry, I don't believe the computer simulation theory, just kinda interesting to think about.
I already know who made me, and who has forgiven me inspite of my trespasses.

Well, as I already explained, believing we live in a simulation doesn't mean that anything in the Bible is false. In fact, it can help explain things like Biblical miracles in a more digestible way. You would know that if you had paid attention to the words in this thread rather than take the knee jerk reaction of, "my pastor hasn't told me this. Therefore it isn't true."

Philosophers have knocked this exact question around in their heads for over 2,000 years now. Since Plato. And it appears we have finally reached the point where we can actually search for evidence to prove it one way or another.

Very exciting time to be alive. Of course, some people couldn't care less and would rather spend their time thinking about deer hunting. So maybe they don't see it as exciting. But some of us do.

Now, near as I can remember, I've never tried running my mouth in one of your numerous (I'm sure) deer hunting threads, so could you extend me the same courtesy?

Thanks in advance.
