A walnut is more nut than vegetable.
More like things you put in a salad

You can't really blame the mushroom.

dcbl, I like you and all, but the Republicans of my grandfathers era are dead and buried. I shudder at what the party has become and it began when RR let the far right in the door. When they let this negative attack ads thing have purchase they sold their collective soul to the devil. Not saying the far left is any better either.
Time for moderates from both parties to bring back order or start backing a real 3rd party that would kick these two out the door.

would be great
name a moderate democrat that has true power; the entire dem leadership seems to be all in on character assassination and tossing out due process & fair play
the vicious attacks on Trump, coupled with the circus and desperate smear job surrounding Brett Kavanaugh are hardening my heart
I was for Kasich in the primaries (most moderate repub running) - my post record can prove it
but Trump is not the radical our lying media makes him out to be; he is crass and brazen, to be sure, but not so far out of the republican mainstream
he has kept his promises, which means he is doing what republicans have promised to do for decades
he does deserve criticism on some issues; but the extreme wailing and gnashing of teeth over him is downright ridiculous
the New York Times did a hit job
about curtains
that were ordered under Obama's watch - OOPS
CNN did a hit job
about ice cream
there are so many more examples, and this reply has already been long, but I will end with this - we have seen proof that top officials in the intelligence community colluded to thwart a free election; used opposition research to spy on a presidential campaign, and doubled down to use false info and media leaks to obstruct and take down a duly elected president
nothing from our media except to cheer it on; nay, to participate in the corruption!
yet when Bill Clinton met the AG on a tarmac while Hillary was being investigated? nothing
we have a Luggenpresse and an amazingly corrupt government bureaucracy
and my moderate side is losing out to my angry side, like I said, my heart is hardening over all of this

I'd still rather eat mushrooms any day (outside work hours) than eat broccoli.

That mushroom is living a hard life.

However, I assign blame to both side for this
As for Trump, I spent time with him in the early 80's and he was nutty as a fruit bat back then. I am pretty sure he did not get better with age. If he is the bully pulpit of mainstream Republicans we are all in deep doodie.
I am deeply saddened that with over 300 million citizens to choose from in these United States, these have been our recent choices
Bush Jr vs Kerry (both were Skull & Bones at Yale)
Hillary vs Donald (a real battle of the bottom of the barrel)
Explain why we can not get an actual average American as a choice for POTUS who actually represents the majority of the American people? Name me one elected POTUS that graduated from a state school since WWII?
Pretty much every president graduated from and IVY, a near IVY, a private, or a military academy. Do we not have smart and competent citizen that actually came from the masses?

I just want add that Broccoli's existence is a crime. It smells like the farts of a thousand asses and tastes like death.
I'm being perfectly honest, and not exaggerating when I state that chemical-warfare training agents taste better than that nasty-arse, infernal, green shite. No hyperbole, at all. It's fricking revolting.

The use of embellishment is an underappreciated art.
