Well, you acted incredulous at the thought that the U.S. government would fund terrorist groups. We've been doing that for decades! The U.S. funded Bin Laden and Al Qaeda when they were fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. That's a documented fact, not even up for debate.
The terrorist groups are just a tool we use we control the region. It's all about money...follow the money.
The current proxy war with Assad and the rebels is all about who controls the supply of oil and gas to Europe. It's what the Iran deal was about. It's why Russia is backing Assad and we want him out. It's why the EU supported the Iran deal. The EU wants out from under Russian control of their gas supply. Russia can't lose that customer, and they want to build a pipeline under their control from Iran through Iraq through Syria and continue to supply Europe via this "Islamic Pipeline" added to their South stream and Nubucco pipeline.
The US wants to build a pipeline from Qatar through Israel and Turkey to the EU. We want a regime change in Syria to make sure Russian can't get their new pipeline, or moreso we would like to have that pipeline from Iran also. It's why we destabilized Iraq...so we could stabilize it with our own chosen leaders when the time is right...after we topple Assad and take over Syria and "defeat" ISIS. Then we have control over the entire ME region and the pipelines to Europe, and Russia is cut completely out of the deal. Originally we just wanted to build the Quatar pipeline that would have destroyed Russia, Iraq, Iran economically by freeing Turkey from Iranian gas and EU from Russian gas. But I think we made a different play to frick Russia even more...and that was we decided to to take the Islamic pipeline also and give Iran a lifeline. (remember Iran and Russia have been somewhat allies)
Now forward to the Iran nuclear deal...it lifts sanctions on Iran to where they can export oil and gas. Now Iran is "fighting" ISIS in Iraq...why might that be? So they can gain control of the region to build this pipeline, at which point whichever side wins in Syria (Russia or the US) will get control of and thus reap rewards. Iran doesn't care who wins, they just want the money. Russia's last play is to keep Assad in power, and who knows how far they will go to do so.
It's not about terrorism, we support and aid these groups to destabilize the regions and put our own people in power to control energy. We know damn well we have the power to stop it if we need to. They are simply pawns in our game that are driven by their own religious propaganda that we and their leaders intentionally fuel to create chaos.
The problem with this chaos, is this is how world wars are started because it's a power play. It threatens Russia's entire existence as the world's 2nd largest superpower (militarily) and they are already on economic life support. The US is sitting on massive oil and gas reserves here at home..if we take control of all of the O&G in the middle east, we control most of the energy in the developed world and that gives us and our allies in Europe basically unlimited power. Countries like Russia and China fear this, because the move would allow us to destroy China's manufacturing by jacking up energy costs and keeping costs low on the Western side, while cutting Russia out of the energy business almost entirely.
This is why Russia inked a huge 400 billion dollar gas deal with China back in May 2015 via a Siberian Power gas line set to come online in 2018. They are trying to keep the gas flowing, and if they lose this proxy battle China will be their only avenue to stay relevant.

The MIC and gun runners would be a good start. All of the corporations, lobbyists, and politicians on both the left and right who make hand over fist in weapons deals. But most of all the American people for not recognizing the duopoly for what it is and thinking the President is more powerful than he really is. So they can flip the figure head and do it all over again, just as they did with the bankster bail out money. But hey ya know, if you rather... you can just be one of those idiots who think everything is Obama's fault. The system needs pawns to work.
The problem with people who say stuff like this, is that even if they have a point, they come across as such pretentious douchbags. It's why no one really listens to you, your condescending attitude is so off putting.

We leave the middle east and a lot of problems get solved...or we should just arm all sides

Just loopholes to keep the war going

where do you learn about all this

The weapons and vehicles have the latest micro-GPS tracking devices in them. The ones that wont't be available to the public for 10-15 more years. We are using them to identify command and control centers, gun emplacements, truck yards, etc. And, there are still several Double Agents in Division 30 sending back information on personnel, structure, strategy, etc. I would say everything is going according to plan.
The US Military complex often makes mistakes. But it's rarely stupid.

I'm with you on just about everything except this point. Iraq was a mistake. We thought our invasion would stabilize Iraq and act as a permanent foil to Iran.
This was a grievous error. Probably the biggest US foreign policy mistake since Vietnam. Maybe even since WWI. Instead of shoring up Iraq and acting as a counterweight to Iran, we ended up basically handing a big portion of the Middle East to Iran on a silver platter. And we startedd a civil war over there that will last for 100 years. This wasn't the plan. This was a frick up, plain adn simple. Everything we are doing now is an effort to clean up this mistake.

This was discussed in great detail in the PNAC document. It talked about gaining entrance into the Middle East for the purpose of controlling its natural resources.
It also noted that getting the American people behind such an elaborate and costly agenda would be an incredibly long and tedious process (and I quote) ""absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."
Interesting that 9/11 happened a year later and it kicked off the agenda we see there today that you described.
Coincidence?
Not likely. It produced a boogeyman needed for this lengthy agenda and provided the "excuse" needed to invade Afghanistan for the billions in poppies, billions in Unocal's proposed oil and gas pipeline, and control of trillions in untapped natural resources.
And in turn was the necessary impetus to get into Iraq for regime change and to built permanent military bases and a firm foothold from which to operate in the area as you've described.
