as opposed to the crappy grunge crap of the 90's.
There were some great bands to come out of the Grunge movement. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. Those were damned good bands.

Slick Rick or KRS?
Ricks been around since late 80's as an independent
MC Ricky D was touring with Dougie Fresh almost the whole 80's though
And before that he was with Dana Dane in the Kangol Crew in late 70's
So he's been around a while

Ripped off Red Hot Chili Peppers and increases his breathing to the point of huffing and puffing, as if that's some kind of musical feat.

Used with their permission. Along with Arcade Fire on another track.
It's about the words. 99% of his stuff serves a purpose and has a meaning.

Common has floated a little bit to the popular side for me
That album was his best, I think sadly he knew he wanted to get on in Chicago, he had to go through Kanye and kinda sold out to do it been downhill ever since then
And don't EVEN get me started on Kanye
shot to the top and middle fingers to everyone (Do or Die, Twista, Traxster) who got him there

Just grew up in a different time. Different taste in a lot of music. Doesn't make what I like or don't like better or worse. Just one particular genre I don't care for. I can go through a sit down of listening of the following artists:
Hank Jr
AC/DC
Godley and Crème
Twisted Sister
Ozzy
Westlife
Judas Priest
Nina Simone
Joe Bonamassa
Panini
Mama's and the Poppas
Dusty Springfield
Vanessa Mae
Within Temptation
Bon Jovi
Madonna (older stuff)
Baltimora
Breathe
Beethovan
Vangelis
Ennio Morricone...
I have a wide variety of music I listen to. Just not grungy or hip hop.
