I was talking about this a friend earlier today and for Alabama we were able to come up with in no order.
Jesse Owens - 4 Gold Medals in 1936 Olympics
Willie Mays - World Series Champion, 24x All Star, 2x NL MVP
Carl Lewis - 9x Olympic Gold Medal Winner
Joe Louis- 69 wins, 57 by KO, 3 losses, heavyweight record 25 successful title defenses
Hank Aaron - a record 25x All Star, NL MVP, hold record for non steroid enhanced home runs in a career
Also mentioned were Bo, Bart Starr, and Satchel Paige. All stats are from wikipedia, so my bad for any mistakes.
That's got to be tought to beat two arguably top 5 olympians, 2 arguably top 5 baseball players, and a top 5 (really top 3) boxer.
So other states, what you got?

Shaun Alexander is number two for you

Meh. Shaun Alexander is great. But he's not beating out multiple gold medalist, a Heisman winner, the World's Greatest, and etc on my list.
