Very few. Most never make it to the U.S. and of the ones that do, most are unable to adapt to American style basketball.

Some teams do it because they can stash the guy in Europe or South America or wherever for a year in order to free up more cap space.
I have no problem with taking foreign guys in the back half of the 1st round or the 2nd round. Most picks in that range will fail to ever make an impact on your team anyway. It's when you take Darko Milicic 2nd overall over Carmelo Anthony that you really frick up.

T the Spurs gonna make 2 big time FA signings when it starts, my Mom has a co-worker who's brother is in the SA FO
He sent me an email (knows that I have a co-worker who is a huge Spurs fan) saying they are gonna sign David West and Andre Igoudala (AI is still negotiating, could still fall through but it's looking good right now)
