If your idea of BBQ in Birmingham is Jim N Nick's and Golden Rule then you're retarded and you probably take your wife on hot dates to Applebee's and TGI Fridays (that actually wouldn't be that surprising though considering Baton Rouge is the chain restaurant capital of America)

Anyone who doesn’t say Texas is a liar.

I am from Louisiana and if you want good bar-b-que go West, east or north and leave. Otherwise, we have he best food in the world, Baton Rouge included.

Hell TJ Ribs is pretty damn good for a state with zero BBQ heritage.

Nice to see. I went to law school with Grant’s older brother. Good family.

TJ Ribs is garbage and I grew up in BR.

1. Texas brisket. If pork, there are better states.
2. Kansas City
3. Memphis
4. Birmingham
5. Carolina

Rodney Scott, winner of the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Southeast opened a BBQ restaurant in Birmingham so he could compete with the best BBQ in the world and get out of the stagnant creative hellhole of South Carolina
You're a moron.
He is bringing awesome South Carolina bbq to awful Brimingham. Rodney Scott has his original hole in the wall in Hemingway, SC and his newer restaurant in Charleston.

Had brisket for the first time a few months ago, and was extremely disappointing. I was expecting something I never had before, but its just pot roast with bar-b-que sauce on it. frick brisket

Best BBQ is Texas for sure. I’ll go with Tennessee (Memphis) or Missouri (St Louis) next.

You didn't have true Texas brisket then.

Pulled pork is better than brisket.

Jim & Nick's and Golden Rule suck. There's not a decent BBQ place in the city. I'd rather have the blasphemous crap they call BBQ in the Carolinas than anything from Birmingham.
Saws and Mrs Myra’s are my go to’s. I haven’t tried Rodney Scott’s but I hear it’s pretty good as well. As far as the bigger chain places go, Full Moon is a decent option.
