I'm going to the UT Arkansas game with my wife and was wondering what we could do since it's supposed to rain all weekend. Suggestions for Friday night and Saturday?

Mouses Ear. Go there. Take wife. She'll love it.

How old are you and what kind of places do you like?

Market Square is always a safe bet as there are restaurants (Tupelo Honey, Stock & Barrel) and good bars. Suttree's if you like high grav beers, Pres Pub if you don't mind smoke, and Scruffy City Hall is a cool spot too. Sapphire usually has a good crowd with some hot chicks, gays, and house music. Personally, I think the place blows but the ladies like it. There are a lot of other places around this area and it's very walkable.
My other rec would be the Old City. Barley's, Jig n Reel, Crown and Goose are all good places. I personally like the Old City but I don't like loud places and big crowds.
Outside of downtown going west you have Bearden Beer Market and some other decent bars down Kingston Pike (names escape me). Hops and Hollers and Central Flats and Taps are good places outside of downtown but still close.
Otherwise you have Cumberland Ave (The Strip) where the younger crowd hangs but you won't be weird there at your age and especially on a game weekend. I haven't gone out down there in so long I couldn't tell you whats still open but everything is close and the bars are your typical college bars from what I remember.

All good suggestions. Just to point out, old city and Market Square are close enough to each other that you can start out in one and walk to the other very easily.

Drink, make love in the hotel room, and make fun signs in the downtime. It is like being a kid again but now when it rains you can drink and have sex.
As for the sign making, something along this line comes to mind…

Highly recommend dinner at Sunspot on Friday evening. Not too expensive, near campus and great local food. Also, isn't too busy on game days if you're looking for a place to eat and watch football before the game.
Check out the Farmers Market on Saturday until 2p, as long as the rain holds. Food trucks galore and a great scene. Finally, everyone hit on most of the bars, one other I recommend is The Public House. It's set off by itself somewhat but that area is up and coming. It's a unique atmosphere but the drink selection is top notch.

The place next to Tennessee Valley Bikes?

Yep, don't tell me you've had a bad experience there, it would be disappointing to hear. We've enjoyed it and they have an awesome outdoor area in the back.

Ha no, I've only been there a couple times and that was a while ago, but it was fine. They have a good beer selection which is usually my main concern.
I'm usually pedaling back home and would stop there for a last beer before I get home. I should try it again soon.
