I just finished it last night. I had no idea he fired 2 of his appointed Lawyers and gave the defense himself.

Not successfully, obviously. He thought he was so smart and could beat the system that he turned down a plea that would have sent him to prison for life. Instead, he wound up in Old Sparky.

That was so incredible. That he was never worried because he always thought he could outsmart anyone.

When I drive to Jax sometimes I pass pretty close to Florida State Prison where they do the executions for all of those in Florida on Death Row.

It gives me the creeps, especially when passing near it at night.

Chilling documentary. Having him essentially narrate it was a great touch that really showed how nuts the guy was

He escapes from custody twice, then he is locked up in a max secure cell. Talking with the prison psychologist afterwards, he said his captors had some type of paranoia that he would try and escape, and that he didn't see why they were being so extreme towards him

Like dude what? you just escaped prison twice

Those and other incidents are really telling

It really shows how disconnected the sense of reality of a psychopath is

Its pretty crazy how bad of a serial killer he actually was. He would have been caught in a heartbeat nowadays. His behavior at Lake Sammamish Park would raise a lot of eyebrows in today's world.

Bundy was a classic psychopath, devoid of any empathy for anyone. I think he was probably lacking another essentially human characteristic, too, theory of mind. This would explain why he thought he was smarter than everybody else. He just couldn't recognize that others have beliefs, desires, intentions, and perspectives that are different from his own.

Never once did he ever acknowledge the humanity of the dozens of women that he brutally murdered. To him they were just objects to be used as he saw fit. That's classic psychopathy.

Psychopaths don't lack empathy;they can just turn it off and on like a switch. Now socialpaths are completely devoid of empathy.

I agree. Bundy caused so much change in how the justice system deals with serial killers. He was so successful because he traveled across state lines, knowing that there was very little interaction between states then.

I once read that Bundy went to Florida because of that state's reputation for executing killers. I didn't see any reference to that in the series but I can believe it. He sincerely thought that he could go there, commit some heinous murders and then work his way out of it. I think he might have even chosen that little girl as his final victim just to cause as much rage as he could towards him.

You've got that backwards. LINK

When I studied criminal behavior, I was taught that psychopaths are born without empathy and that sociopaths learn to suppress it so that they can commit crimes without feeling guilt.
quote:

Psychopathy can be thought of as a more severe form of sociopathy with more symptoms. Therefore, all psychopaths are sociopaths but sociopaths are not necessarily psychopaths.

He was handsome. That's how he got women to go with him. He would also put his arm in a sling and ask for their help. When he got them alone he would turn into a savage killer. Often he would kill his victims before raping them.

Only one woman was able to fight him off and get away. Bundy got so angry that he went to a nearby church and snatched a young woman going to her car. He immediately strangled her and had sex with her corpse.

Sick. I don’t want to watch this thing. He may have been good looking but he had the crazy eyes, those crazy eyes can happen in either gender and it pays to watch out for them.

You guys need to check out Mindhunter on Netflix. Based on the true stories of when the FBI formed its Behavioral Department and started interviewing serial killers to better learn crazy in order to catch it. Only finished its 1st season and waiting soon for the 2nd season to start showing.

Season 2 should include Gacy, Son of Sam and Bundy.

Bundy was better married to Peg, but his part on Modern Family sucks.

Mindhunter is great. I’m looking forward to the second season, too.

A sidebar about one of the stars of the series: Hannah Gross plays Debbie, the girlfriend of Holden Ford who is played by Jonathan Groff. In one explicit scene, Ford goes down on Debbie and gives her several minutes of oral pleasure. It is a hot scene.

Groff is a Mormon so Gross wore a plastic barrier on her vagina so that there technically was no cunnilingus. Groff said his mother wanted to watch the series and he wanted her to know that the act was fake.

ETA: Pics of Hannah Gross. Don’t want any demerits.

My brother’s high school gf was one of the Chi Omega girls that survived the attack. We saw her about 3 weeks after the attack. She had stitches across her face, broken jaw, and a broken arm. The only reason they think she survived was she shared a room with another survivor. The two killed were alone in their rooms. She didn’t remember anything
