I'm not a doomsaday prepper, but I do store bicycle and army helmets in the tornado closet..

Gotta store them somewhere

Getting in a tub with pillows on your head is normal, but people act like I'm crazy for that.. Perspective is a mofo..

It's still a long way off, but the delta into North Central Mississippi looks to be in for a rough overnight Monday into Tuesday. Abundant moisture, plenty of sheer and plenty of potential energy to draw into.

Still way too far off to know for certain.

Reed Timmer just posted that it could be the worst multi day outbreak since April 2011.

Could be. We'll have a better idea in a day or two. Hopefully for those west of us it'll be more of a line situation.

The setup for SEC country looks all sorts of bad though. Hope the models back off/not be right. Mississippi is right in the bulls eye if the models are right though.

Actually, you do. The whole country does. You rely far too heavily on several of our resources to lose us.

Not reading the whole thread to respond to this.

Kiss my arse.

How's that for a rational response?

Of the 40% of our oil that we domestically produce, nearly 25% of it comes from Texas. Blah, blah, blah.

What does any of that have to do with tornados in Mississippi, numbnuts?

You wanna know why people outside Texas don't like Texans? Refer back to this thread.

Since you seem to know about this stuff.

How's the outlook for OKC area this weekend? I'm currently here for work, I've been digging around and yesterday it looked pretty intense.

I don't really understand all the models, 12Z, 0Z, etc. I just want to know if I'm gonna need to get in my bathtub with a mattress this weekend. I don't think this hotel has a storm shelter.

Check with your local NWS site.

Looks like it's probably going to be rough tonight and then spotty severe thunderstorms Saturday and sunday. If you are in one of those cells though, it appears as if tornados are a real concern. It's all subject to change though.

I hope you're right. The latest model runs look ugly though. Still plenty of days to change. We'll see what it looks like on Sunday.

We don't rely on Texas oil. It's there so we use it, but to act like we depend on it is being disingenuous. Mexico could annex Texas and no one would give a shite.

If Texas's oil disappeared, the price at the pump would sky rocket. You think the bumfricks in Arkansas could afford $6/gallon gas? Not a chance.
