Thank God for y'all. Somehow "talking" about it with all of you is comforting.

Definitely. I never lost electricity or phone usage tonight, but I couldn't imagine what it'd be like if you lost all power, in the dark, alone, and knowing that something that big and bad bearing down you, and not knowing if and when it could strike. Scary shite

Prof, are you alone? Be safe!

No the SO is here. And we're in the basement which is built into the side of a ridge so it's a good safe spot to shelter.

Anyone know what it's looking like for Auburn? I'd rather not wake up the gf turning the tv back on if it's not going to amount to anything.

My Apartment is in Highland Park in B'ham, which is to the immediate southeast of downtown.

My apartment is in highland park too, a couple blocks from lakeview. We don't have a basement though. I was nervous as all hell for a minute there.

I've been listening to fox 6 on 105.5 and a few minutes ago the news cut off and coast to coast came on. Is this a good sign or do I just need to find a new radio station?

That means they discontinued storm coverage and went back to normal broadcasting.

Usually means you are in the clear.
