WASHINGTON —
The Trump administration on Friday announced it was appointing retired University of Georgia football star Herschel Walker to a two-year post on a plum presidential council.

The White House said Walker, former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera and beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor would serve as co-chairs of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Sorry, no pics of Herschel.

They go way back. Trump owned the team hershel left school for, trump is the one who talked him out of his senior year.

Trump then went on to ruin the USFL by convincing other owners to fight the NFL and go head to head with the NFL in the fall. Pretty much ended the USFL then and there.

Have to admit I would be embarrassed to be associated with trump and would have to turn down the offer. Its bound to be a dysfunctional clusterfrick if he gets involved.

What progress?

He talks about a meeting, but he has been talking about a meeting for about 18 months now before he was president. The south Korean president might be making some progress but that's because trump has been sidelined. Hell, we just got a secretary of state last week, lol.

Yeah, I heard this in Fox news this morning. The lady pronounced it like "her shell" and the guys made fun of her for it.

Revisionist bullshite history by ESPN.The ratings and attendance were in freefall and attendence was doing the same.

The league was unsustainable and it was gonna fold with
or without the Trump lawsuit...which he won BTW.

Honestly dude, why are constantly spewing your SJW politics on this board?

He won $1. And he convinced the usfl to do something insanely stupid which ended it immediately.

Same as most of his other failed businesses frankly.

If those banks had forgiven hundreds of millions in loans in the 90s, the man would have gone bankrupt personally and we would have never heard from the lying conman again. So sad!

That's one "embarrassment" I'm sure you'll never have the opportunity to experience...I've heard his "bean counters" are top notch!

And I just love how you ignored my main points and read
the link this time in regards to the league's TV ratings tanking Attendence was declining and the league was losing millions $150 million to be exact.

Once again the league was UNSUSTAINABLE. I figured a big dick swinging businessman like yourself could comprehend.

Do you really not understand geopolitics?

Kim Jong Un made a surprise trip to see the Chinese. The USA was unaware beforehand of the visit and it only surfaced after the leaders had met. Probably had more to do with the olympics being held in South Korea in February. North Korea average wages are about 4,000 per year and South Korea are around 24,000 per year. Not hard to see Kim figuring this out and making a deal with China to broker a peace.

If the USA was unaware of the visit till after it happened, how could Trump have been responsible?

Try this timeline
February = North Korea sees olympics and South Korean prosperity
March = North Korea meets with China without US intervention or knowledge
April = Trump claims credit for something he had nothing to do with

Some fools believe any correlation no matter how wrong it is.

I can't argue. I mean the deft logic and sheer business sense of Trump destroying a football league for one whole dollar in pay out is not to be denied.

Look... you might have voted for him. Fine. It wasn't like the other choice was something to write home about. But this is like jerking off to My Little Ponies porn.

You do it privately and you never want to admit that you do it.

You all are missing the point. I have worked for rich folks that owned pro teams and I worked for Trump back in the day. The truth is this, he was too cheap to buy a real NFL team so got involved in the USFL hoping he could get in on the cheap. It did not work and he got what he paid for, which was nothing. Not hard to understand but certainly not the smart business move by Trump to begin with.

Getting 1 dollar (trebled to 3 dollars) was a point on the value of Trumps business savvy. Unlike many he has sued to intimidate, the NFL was just not as easy to cave and the 1 dollar reflected how bad Trump was at business when his lawyers could not bully the opposing side.
