The "F" word

I was around a bunch of 19-22 year-olds the other day for a few hours and all I heard them say was "frick" every other word. It was being used as an adjective for everything. From I went to the "fricking" store, or I was talking to a girl about a "fricking" car . . .
I'm not a prude or anything and have used the "f" word in my life when I'm very pissed, to emphasize something important. I also use it sparingly enough to where is means more.
Is it just a generational thing?

I am in my 50s, and when I go on a tear, there is no object, person,or place left verbally un-fricked.
The wife is trying to get me to clean it up,but damn,I'm a Marine. I am a fricking machine.

meh.. I remember men talking that way in the 60s,when they were in a male dominated environment. And I am pretty sure that if you had walked into a Sawmill,Cotton Gin,Tractor shed,or garage in the 30's and 40s, you would hear the same stuff.

You sound like an old man griping about "them kids". Its not a generational thing, its a stage thing, and possibly a socio-economical thing.

I'm probably in a minority but I have never said this word out loud. I don't cuss hardly at all, but that is one that's never said.

I just checked back in on this thread...
Okay...NO. Now let's hear whatcha got.
By the way...it would've been better had you said "Wanna frick around" considering the OP's subject.

Yep. Most every old timer from most every generation has probably uttered something about the younger generation being "hellhound" or contributing to the downfall of the country.

Carolina Girl follows script : No!
Auggie in very sincere tone : Will you stand still while I do?

And Ag...no need to assert dominance. Pretty much everyone here knows we're a "thing".

I'm 22. I use it occasionally. Usually when I'm pissed. It's rarely directed at somebody though.
A lot of women still don't like the word so you have to be careful on when you use it
The people that use it every other word are still looked on in this generation.
