When will people ever learn that no one wants to watch shitty football in the spring?

Exactly. I love football as much as the next guy but it’s March madness and baseball season on top of that...

Eh, it was a nice distraction from the desert of no football.

Not a surprise at all. I’ve been watching rugby and la crosse if I see it on. Don’t know everything about either sport but it’s interesting.

Rugby is awesome. Gets shafted in the US for the same reason soccer does, not enough time for commercials because of the constantly running clock.

By "gets shafted in the US?"

you mean no one cares about the MLS?

because doesn't the PL do very well in the US?

I feel like more people watch that than the NHL.

The USFL dumped a ton of money into making Spring football profitable and nearly pulled it off until certain owners (who I will not name because this will get political) screwed the pooch.

Arena Football? Its vaguely profitable but anything more then that is going to lose money. There is only so much money you can make from football. The CFL has been around forever and a day and they couldn't sustain extra operations in the US.

The AFL was reasonably popular at one point, but it's basically dead today. You do have a huge number of offshoot arena football leagues. I'd like to see them pool their resources together to create something of what the AFL used to be.

Arena football is a lot of fun and different enough from the NFL that you don't feel like you're watching a minor league product.
