I've been neck deep and then learned later that sharks were probably within 20 feet or closer or something

This is why I like fresh water and wading through water moccasins instead to the good fishing hole

Were sharks about to eat me? I need to know.

You probably need a bath then

You're highly unlikely to be bit by a shark, but you need to take extra caution in cloudy water. The less visibility, the higher the chance a shark might mistake you for food

Congrats on surviving, condolences on being in MS

Bull sharks will come into fresh water and eat your butt. I won’t go into fresh water bodies that have contact with the ocean.

Sharks are more timid especially around Biloxi. You won’t have any issue really.

A Great White was caught off the beach in Pensacola a few weeks ago. Surf fishing at night.

Do not look at aerial photos of the Destin beaches then. You routinely see 8-10 foot long sharks swimming just offshore there.

Mostly sharks will avoid you but you should give them the same distance. After all they aren't that bright and they tend to investigate whether something is food by taking a nibble.

Oddly enough one of the most well known marine biologists out there has swum with sharks hundreds of times and never been bitten... but she did have a large American Crocodile bite the dickens out of her while filming a show for Shark Week.

Put me in a pool of sharks or snakes before you put me in one with a croc.

American Crocodiles, as compared to the Ganges, Nile, and dreaded Saltwater Crocodiles, aren't usually noted for their attacks. The Alligator, which is far lazier, has sort of out placed them in most of their habitat.

Now an Australian Freshwater Crocodile with its narrow fish eating snout... OK. I won't go swimming with them but I can stand to be around them.

Remember though... not that long ago geologically speaking... there were Crocs that were 30 feet or longer!

Isn't this due to weight divisions?
