Do you know if they're straight?

That Leia flying moment is terrible. All of this is terrible. It's such a bad movie.

I was hoping the first order would finish the rebels off. Movie was meh. Nothing was solved just dragged the story a little further. Kylo needs to settle down and be the leader the First Order needs and crush the rebellion

It's strange that they come out and say Kylo is not a Sith, but then he and Snoke behave exactly like Sith in the movies, particularly the Master-appentice relationship and the way Kylo replaces his master by betrayal.

If this trilogy would have been about Kylo it might actually be watchable.

I can't stand the Mary Sueing of Rey, and the overtly campy attitude of the flicks.

The new movie kinda sucked. Leia flying, all the awfully forced comedic relief, Rey magically being able to lift a ton of rocks without effort, Snoke, his guardians having light proof armor but not light saber proof armor, Silver storm-troopers, Benecio del toro, Chewy being a vegetarian, the list goes on.

The silver storm trooper is Gwendolyn Christie, also know as Lady Brynn of Tarth.

Does that mean a crossover might be in the future?

Let's roll it out.

She's an expert mechanic.
She knows droid binary and Shyriiwook.
She knows the Millennium Falcon better than Han Solo.
She has more Force Control than Luke.
She's a better duelist than Kylo Ren the ''Jedi Killer''. student of Luke Skywalker.

Thank God she's an expert mechanic, fighter, knows multiple languages, is force sensitive and stronger in the force than almost everyone with moderate to no training.

She is the exact definition of a Mary Sue/Gary Stu.

That's funny, since he's only killed Jedi students at best.

It is literally his nickname, he was responsible for single-handedly stopping the Jedi from returning.

It makes more sense now that you don't seem to be familiar with the lore, and that that was the only thing you stuck on.

Kylo Ren is an expert, and literally the best in his group while training as a Jedi (as evidenced by him massacring his entire class). He then took on Snoke, an incredibly powerful being as his mentor. So color me shocked that someone with zero training in utilizing a light saber, using the force and having never fought against a Jedi Knight winning seems a little farfetched to me.

Why do people think this is such a hard thing to use? It's just a weapon like anything else. If you have any experience with that type of combat (which Rey has), then there's no surprise that they could use a light saber as well. Just hit the "on" switch and you're ready to go.

I went to see it opening night and thought it was terrible, especially the characterization of Luke.

Going forward, I don't really know what they can do with IX to make it any kind of compelling story. Luke, Han and Leia are all out of the picture, Snoke is dead, and Rey has pretty much skipped any kind of development and been super powerful from the start and superior to Ren since the first movie. We've also already seen a Skywalker pulled back from the dark once and three planet-sized base destructions to wipe out the enemy in one swoop.

So what the hell are they going to do in IX?

So what you're telling me is that 1. You're not a Star Wars fan and 2. You've never been a fistfight in your life.

Speaking as someone who has fenced (sabre) if someone were to pick up any kind of sword and fight me after playing baseball their entire life, I'd kill them without breaking a sweat. I could literally kill them if I had broken my arm or the like.

Training is important, hard work and showing progress as a protagonist is equally as important.

We don't have that with Rey. She's immediately an expert at everything she does, and her ''losses'' are best case scenario losses and only go on to showcase how amazing she is. She gets captured! But only to show how she's stronger in the force than Kylo, and is better at his Jedi Mind Trick than he is.

She falls into Snoke's trap and seeks Kylo Ren! Only to fight off some guards because damn she's so cool right!?

She's one of the worst characters in Star Wars, and even though Anakin could be a Gary Stu -- he loses his limbs and gets burnt have to death in the end.

If the writers at Disney have ANY balls, they will kill Rey and have the next part of the series welcome a new hero that will have to rise to beat Ren, but we all know this won't happen.
