"All in the Family" is the GOAT. Go back and watch the reruns. The stuff they did on that show..NO WAY YOU COULD DO TODAY, even on cable. Additionally, it was filmed before a live audience. Sometimes the characters would lose it if the audience really got going.

"M*A*S*H" was great.

"Modern Family" is the best current sitcom, and its not even close.

I like BBT but I don't think it is even the best sitcom on tv today. Also I don't get the Sheldon is the whole show idea. He is the best but all their characters even the smaller ones play off each other well especially the girls. I can't believe modern family hasnt been mentioned yet. I love modern family it has it all. Great charters,smart writing, and they aren't afraid to go there if you know what I mean. I thought it would be to much social commentary but that really isn't important to the show at all.

Also night court, wings, coach, and psych all really good especially those first three .

In related news Harry Shearer is leving the Simpsons after 26 years.
