What are outsiders opinions on Baton Rouge? Specifically near LSU. Does it stack up to other SEC towns like Tuscaloosa Auburn or Athens? Rank the power 6 towns on game day.

Baton Rouge is a shithole, man. It's not in the same universe as Athens or Auburn, and I've been to both.

Most of my LSu trips have centered around NO instead of BR, but while on campus I don't really recall anythign of note. Granted it's been 10 years since I've been though. I'm spending more time in BR for this year's trip so I'm excited to check it out.

Why do this? Baton Rouge is the worst SEC town, not the worst Big 6 town.

Auburn while nice, it is so fricking small and in the middle of no where. Not really that much to do outside of skybar. Athens is the goat

Someone a couple of weeks back posted a stat showing the crime rates in war torn middle east cities being lower than Baton Rouge. So I would say not too good

Baton Rouge has a lot of culture and great tradition. But overall, it is a very unkept and dirty city. Parts of LSU and Midtown can be quaint, but for the most part it’s a hodge podge of different class levels. Never have I seen a place like it where you can see million dollar homes less than a couple miles from absolute projects.

Yes it is true, and I’ve spent a lot of time in Baton Rouge. And for the life of me I cannot fathom comments about all of Baton Rouge’s “culture.” New Orleans?...yes. Baton Rouge?...wtf?
