you may want to read this. Remember, Pelosi said people are gonna starve.

Plus many of the centers are being immediately turned into online fulfillment centers and employees will be retained if they re apply.

So um. Whatever.

Walmart is, essentially at this point, competing against itself in many locations. They have never been a company that is shy about closing a store that isn't doing as well as they had hoped.

You really can't understand Walmart as a company until you've been to their headquarters. One of the richest companies in the world... and the Home Office looks like a crappy high school. You know you have made the big time there when you hit Vice President in the company and get an actual honest to God office instead of the cubicle that 99.5% of the employees have. Granted your office will be the size of a walk in closet, but you will have a door.

Walmart and Trump really don't have much in common. Walmart is a succeed at all costs company that is dedicated to cutting away the fat. Trump is a "if I fail, I fail, I'll have the business declare bankruptcy" guy that lives, sleeps, and breathes excess.

In restaurant terms... Walmart is Waffle House. Trump is Red Lobster. Red Lobster is more prestigious but Waffle House is doing a lot better financially.

The high end figure was 19% being turned into fulfillment centers. That's more few than many...

True, but getting a new home office campus.

IMO, WM is positioning to better compete on 2 fronts. 1) E-commerce such as Amazon. They are using some (like 10) Sam's Clubs to help with distribution. 2) Don't forget the pressure they're about to see on the grocery from from competitors such as Aldi, Lidle, et al.... Amazon is trying to figure out how to better position itself in grocery, also the thought of Amazon buying Target is significant.

People have been clamoring for years that WM should raise minimum wage. Yesterday they announced they raised minimum wage to $11 an hour. Now people are bitching about no jobs. People don't understand that when minimum wage goes up, so does labor supply which yields unemployment. Can't have both.

Just like how they don't understand that immigration of unskilled labor drives the wages of American unskilled labor down.

It's amazing how some Americans believe in Disney Economics.

Plans have been approved to rebuild the home office. The current HO is actually spread out over 20+ buildings spread all over Bentonville. They are expanding the road in front of HO to 4 lanes that include an on and off ramp from I49. They are wanting to have all areas within a short walk and or drive. They will start with the fitness center and go from there.

In restaurant terms Waffle House serves higher quality short order food compared to ?RedLobster? (Know how I know you have little culture?) where refrozen foods are reheated and served.

Trump would be a Ruth Chris
