I'll go with Archer, he had the hottest Second In Command....

I like to think so

1. Picard
2. Kirk
3. Janeway
4. Sisko
5. Scott Bakula
Picard and Kirk are the only ones to really write home about. Janeway was more charming than Sisko, especially at the end. Never really watched Scott Bakula, I'm just assuming he's the worst.

I will meet you at the Sonic of your choice over this.....It's Kirk, has always been Kirk and will always be Kirk.

Kirk is about as close to Picard at being a captain as Shatner is to Patrick Stewart at acting. Not close at all.

I'll jump in on the Kirk/Picard debate. I think Picard is the greater captain regarding Starfleet and the Star Trek missions. He embodies much of the Starfleet ideal and, at the end of the day, if I was a redshirt I would rather serve under Picard. He was mostly calm, collected. He used violence as a last resort (except for the movies). He was strict, but led by example.
Kirk was brash, undisciplined, and emotional. His solution to problems usually involved phasers, wrasslin', and fist fights with guys in green suits. That made for good tv but it's not the Star Trek ideal.
Still, in one of those shitty Next Gen movies when Picard goes into the time stream to find someone to beat up Malcolm McDowell, he picks Kirk. So, that's a check mark for Shatner, I guess.

Woah woah woah. I haven't seen a lot of the movies, but First Contact is tGOAT

First Contact was the only good one. The one I'm referencing is Generations. Not so good.

I hated generations. First contact was pretty good and I liked nemesis even though we lost a valuable member of the crew at the end.

Then GTFO. Why are you even here?

I have never watched Star Trek.
My parents should be publicly flogged in the town square.
Instead, they had me watching shite like "Hot Lead, Cold Feet", "Carrie", "Christine", "Cujo", "Psycho".....well, y'all get the drift.

Most all of the Star Trek seasons and movies are on Netflix if you have that.
Watching the original series might not be the best starting point, as the effects nowadays will look kind of cheesy. I would say watching Star Trek II, Wrath of Khan (movie) would be better for watching and learning about Kirk and crew.
The Next Generation series would be next I think, and keep you occupied for a good while. Picard and crew, the Borg, "Q," and plenty more Star Trek staples are found there.
After that there are many movies, and 3(?) more series, Deep Space 9 (Sisko), Voyager (Janeway), Enterprise (Archer - this is a prequel to the original series). Lots of good stuff to watch if you like Sci-Fi any at all.

Picard is way better than Kirk. Kirk wasn't even the brains of his own operation. Picard was the GOAT.
