Texas (style) brisket is king of BBQ. No competition.

They invented it by throwing a cheap chunk of tough meat to the ranch hands and they figured out a way to cook it. Lots of people/places can do it.

I will concede that having aTm certainly makes you the leader in "diversity".

agreed. it's cooked to 190 internal. overdone to my taste. my pork roast is cooked to 160 internal. you will give up pulled pork forever once you've had my pork roast. no shite.

190 the connective tissue breaks down, hence "the pull". If you are 160 then it's called "torn pork".

Holy shite, 10 pages because of BBQ?!?! Awesome!!! BBQ is one of my favorite things in life. And now that Missouri and A&M are in the SEC, we can all be family.

Seriously, football aside, who doesn't like good BBQ? Yes, there are different tastes and styles. But, who would pass on some pulled pork, brisket, or ribs from any one ode the lovely states our teams reside in? St. Louis style ribs, Kansas City (only thing goof from there) sauce, Carolina vinegar mop, Memphis style, Texas spice...

Mmmmm, all good!

I'd be happy to see this thread go 50 pages.

That's practically how most southern food came into existence.

The state of SC is one of, if not the, best place for bbq to begin with.

Not even close.

It's the best for variety. But not for THE best.

What is Alabama barbecue known for? Do they have barbecue there?

As much as I hate Tennessee, I live too close to Memphis to rank it anything less than #1. There are so many great BBQ joints in Memphis.

They have a couple of the best bbq joints around.

Like I said earlier, as much as I hate to admit it, Bob Gibson's is an elite bbq joint. 4 time Grand Champion at the World Championship.

Dreamland is another one that is always ranked very high. (I personally don't care for them that much, but I'm in the minority)
