I believe the same thing happens to people when we die that everyone else believes happens to dogs, cats, birds, etc. Our consciousness ceases and we just no longer exist.
It is by far the simplest and most likely scenario, thus unless given evidence to the contrary I see no reason to dismiss the null hypothesis.

Considering God created the concept of time as we know it, he neither has to have an origin or creator. Pre-creation physics is something we can't know about. However, atheists are tied to physical law and the concepts of creation and origin. Therefore the biggest and most damning hole in the "logic" of atheism will always be trying to figure out where the first space dust came from....

Once you realize that we know much of the OT simply did not occur, the whole house of cards starts to collapse.
I mean, the Bible claims Jesus fully believed in Noah's flood and the exodus. Those are fictional events, so God incarnate acknowledging them as fact calls into question everything else he claims.

It's a huge sign of our Hegelian intellectual epidemic that people who reject religion move all the way across the spectrum to thinking there is nothing at all.
What do you mean by "Hegelian intellectual epidemic"? I'm genuinely curious.
I agree with your basic idea, but I've thought of it as more of a result of Aristotelian logic.

Interesting watching all the chemical reactions going on from the stimuli on the board.

You should see the reactions later when I consume the dimethylaminoethyl dihydrogen phosphate

FWIW, beej, I've seen "entities" too - but I'm not willing to give them a proper label or really accept they truly exist beyond my experience. DMT is some powerful shite.

HempHead, would you be willing to talk about psychedelic experiences that you've had on this board?
Posted on 8/22/15 at 3:50 pm to inadaze
I've done so before, don't see any reason to discontinue.

While I've never ingested a psychedelic, I do believe they sometimes open one's awareness to the spiritual realm.
