When was that may I ask? I always thought they had good reputations prior to their issues in the '90s.

Mid 90s

You might be onto something with the Disney theory

Well I know there were lots of other problems then too, such as deafness, albinism, and kidney problems. So much so that breeding almost stopped entirely for awhile, hence why people have gone without seeing many of them. They are very active dogs and have some inherent tendencies for biting and being nastily vocal because of their roles as crowd control for horse drawn fire carriages. These issues were exaggerated from the over breeding.

Smartest dog I've ever lived with that was smart enough to get what he wanted, but also smart enough to know he's got no chance of really getting to do what he wants.

This is my pet, Nibbles. He can be a real territorial dick when people use the pool without permission

Bitsy's all like "Heyyyyy, why aren't you petting me?"

Here's our dog that passed away two years ago. She was the best dog. My dad was so torn up about it. She followed him EVERYWHERE. Miss you, Coco.

And here is our crazy cat with an outfit my sister put on her. Her name is Belle actually. She thinks she is a wild animal. Maybe ya'll have that in common?
