They are.

And let's not even discuss The Catholic Church and how many were slaughtered in The Crusades.

You bring up the Crusades, I'm bringing up the 400 years preceeding the Crusades.
I'm not Catholic, boy touching is wrong, but the Crusades Justification is easily ripped apart.

Slaughtered Jews and schismatic Orthodox Christians.
And we haven't even mentioned the 12th and 13th centuries.

I'm not! That's my point, we are not a nation of Christians. We have turned our back on what is right.

It's not justification as much as it is making a point that Christian ideology has not carried over throughout history. It's not so cut-and-dry.

How do we really know what God thinks? He didn't write the Bible. Man did. And it has been translated and shifted over time. Do we really know that God doesn't think "an eye for an eye"?
I'm not implying anything here, so don't think that. This is just conversation.. But God created man in his own image, correct? Well man changes. Man evolves. Can God not change and evolve with man?

If you believe in God, wouldn't you think it should be the other way around?

Why? God has never spoken to me. Frankly, I have no idea what God thinks, except for a few things. Love one another. Acknowedge him as God. etc etc Everything I know about God is what man has taught me. Including what is in the Bible.
It's cliche', I know, but I firmly believe the Bible has been twisted to Man's narrative. I think it's short sighted and egotistical to think that a book written by man has all of the answers to the universe.

Are you implying that we are evolving with God? Because that's interesting and is a total game-changer.

God is all about Gay Rights!

Modern humans, H. sapiens sapiens, originated about 200,000 years ago. At least in appearance. You would not be able to distinguish someone from then from today's humans.
However, it wasn't until about 55,000 years ago that the human brain became fully modern. It was then that a "creative light" came on and humans began to express art and culture that indicated symbolic thinking was common.
Humans created gods in their own images. God became a symbol for the desires and goals that this new brain generated.
