I can't decide:
‘What’s Going On’ — Marvin Gaye
‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ — Bob Dylan
‘Johnny B. Goode’ — Chuck Berry
‘Imagine’ — John Lennon
ETA:
'Rapture' - Blondie I had to add this because it was the first "Rap" song to ever top the charts.

Pancho and Lefty - Townes Van Zandt
Living on the road my friend
Was gonna keep you free and clean
And now you wear your skin like iron
And your breath as hard as kerosene
Weren't your mama's only boy
But her favorite one it seems
She began to cry when you said goodbye
And sank into your dreams
Living on the road my friend
Was gonna keep you free and clean
And now you wear your skin like iron
And your breath as hard as kerosene
Weren't your mama's only boy
But her favorite one it seems
She began to cry when you said goodbye
And sank into your dreams

The greatest song in history might be many legendary songs like Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven but this song by Billy Idol still rocks hard:
Rebel Yell

Such a great song. The horns add so much, if you listen to a version without the horns it just doesn’t hit the same.

Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd
So many layers with 2 great solos. David Gilmore is a genius.
PF and King Crimson are the grandparents to my favorite band TOOL.

Hell yeah, my go to band when I get hammered. I like to listen to Lament to get pumped up early on, then at the end of the night put my AirPods in when it’s time for bed and listen to Starless.

I really don't like ranking things that aren't really meant to be ranked, just enjoyed. But I'll throw this out there.

Pink Floyd - "Time"
quote:
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

I am saddened that Wendy O. Williams (former lead singer of The Plasamatics) and her wonderful song "F*ck that booty" has not been mentioned yet.
