I drive north in the morning but I saw all the traffic backed up on the southbound side. Interstate and feeder roads were backed up for miles.
~20 years ago, my oldest and I went to a show

She was 15.
The violent femmes were “my band”. I swear, I would have stabbed you in the throat to steal your tickets way back in ‘89.
Jesus, I’m over 50 now. I never stabbed (or shot) anyone.
Last night, in ATX, at the moody theater (ACL), my middle daughter, me and my 15 year old son, watched the Violent Femmes play the tracks from their first two albums.
Although I bought tickets for me and all of my kids, only the middle daughter was able to make it Austin to watch with her brother.
During the intermission, my daughter convinced a dear old lady to let me and my boy on to the floor for the second set (debut album).
My boy told me that “this was the greatest night of his life.”
Obviously, this was my kids worshipping the band that I grew up obsessed with, but this is truly my Boy’s favorite band
First and greatest show of his life .

No shite. A guy that filed for bankruptcy 6 times is in charge…
The man (company) owns over 500 businesses. 6 of them failed so the decision was made to file.
Should he have continued to dump money from the successful businesses into them and prop them up in the hope that they’d get better? That sounds a lot like how the government has handled the DOE.

I wish Jennings would just ask the simple question- “can you give us one example of Trump acting against his constitutional authority.”
“Shredding the constitution”- recent, repeated talking point by the left that is just plain empty.

Consumption/sales tax is the way.
It’s funny, Texas has a massive surplus of $ and a top five gdp in the US, and doesn’t charge taxes on food or require me to charge/pay tax on labor or subcontract labor/work.
Texas has more concrete highways than anywhere in the US. We have the best roads and bridges, don’t we folks?
Went to HEB this evening and spent $65 on groceries. Paid $1.17 in taxes because I grabbed an $11 bottle of cab while I was shopping.
You, along with many American tax payers have been brainwashed to think that 30% +/- of your check is needed to fund Washington or defend the US.
I will tell you, promise you, bet you that not a country on this planet will ever invade these shores. Rest easy muffin, my 2A (and millions of others) guarantees it. Allow me to genuinely protect these borders and my 50yo arse will happily stand a post. That is, unless you didn’t really mean Defense and meant the MIC.

Today’s body techs are quick to ask for replacement parts. When they tell me it can’t be repaired, I say “let me show you.”
One of my techs today paid me a great compliment - “because you really know this stuff, you bring out the best in me.”

All good ones, but you forgot my boy Keith Morris.
I saw bad religion play in the early 90’s, this band Green Day opened for them. I was so impressed with them, I bought their tape from the merch table. Popped it in the deck the next day for the drive back to Louisiana. It sucked so bad. A few months later, they were all over the radio.

Awesome. Saw them play in California waaaay back in the early 00’s. Which reminds me of another favorite trio- the Reverend Horton Heat!

Rush is kind of “an obvious answer”, my personal favorite- Violent Femmes.
This was the first show my oldest daughter and I saw together, also the first (and only) time we got shite-faced together
Got all of my kids hooked on them, my youngest (15yo boy) especially. We’re all going to see them next month here in Austin. They’re playing their first two albums. (Self titled, Hallowed Ground)
My boy is so pumped! I take one, one, one ‘cause you left me and two, two….

quote:IMHO, the spring game should always be held during the day when baseball has a game that evening (weekend series). It makes for a great weekend for fans.
They need to do something to spice up the spring game
My weekend schedule would be (something like): Friday night game, whiskey drinks, night at The Cook, breakfast, early spring game, late lunch/early supper (chimes or walkons), baseball, whiskey drinks, back to The Cook, wake up, breakfast, Sunday baseball, drive home.
That was what we did way back in (I think) 2012- got to see Mett under center, and a weekend sweep of Arkansas.
