I mean if they raffling a rifle with historical significance or value, that's different, but this just screams truck nuts and "They turk er jerbs ".

agree on both counts.
it's even more redneck to think they are being ridiculous for cancelling this in light of recent events.
I swear some folks on this website and TD can't put politics aside for 1 second and just use common sense. The press you'd receive for this raffle, at this time, is plenty of reason to cancel.
And I'm saying this as someone who would buy a ticket if I could.

My rural Arkansas high school in the mid-90's.....
Brought our knives to school to sharpen them in shop class.
Monday following opening of deer season the school was closed for "deer day".
Half the vehicles on campus has rifles in them during deer season.
No one was ever stabbed or shot. Lot of guys got black eyes and bloody noses.

sounds like my high school as well. We had a fella show up to school with a deer in the back of his pickup before since he went hunting that morning and was running late. Not the best idea, but that was rural TN.

Why can't I have a bazooka? I also want some hand grenades. When I go hunting I want to convert that deer into sausage in the field. Much more efficient.

I mean it's a raffle for an assault rifle I think this is the kind of thing that folks are a little concerned about in light of recent events
