Yeah unlike like us east coast folks where it all ends about midnight and have to be at work by 6am

Eastern time zone fricking sucks. I've turned down jobs to not be stuck there.

The west is awesome but not sure about Portland, some of the people sound insufferable. I just left Salt Lake City today. Nice place to go if you've never been. Montana is next on the list of places I'd like to go(in the west).

Any advise on anyone that has made a long move across country? Any rant friends in the Portland area?

I don't live in Portland but I live a couple hours away in the same climate. I'd recommend spending a few weeks out here during the winter to make sure you're good with the constant overcast. If you can't do that, just remember, summer is coming and the PNW has some of the best summers in the country.

Hope you are liberal minded with their values, I just got back from 2 weeks in Colorado Springs, CO. They can have it, if I never go back it will be too soon.

Having lived out west for the past 4 years, my biggest piece of advice is don't take things personally from folks.

A lot of jack legs live out here, mingled with good genuine people.

Best thing about being that close to the coast is it usually doesn't get that hot in the summer. And is a few degrees warmer in the winter.

Not criminals. Not budget deficits and national debt. Not a crummy education system. Not anything else.

But this man, you say?

Haha well I don't really care about politics to be honest with you so that was never a factor for me.

Well, everyone else in Portland does care, and they are fanatical and almost entirely leaning in just one direction.

Have fun in the ideological echo chamber.
