It's weird that nobody has come up with the correct answer yet. It isn't money.
What is best in life?
"To crush your enemies. See them driven before you. And to hear the lamentations of their women."
You forgot to drink from the skulls of your enemy

True. My view is that money doesn't necessarily buy happiness, but it buys freedom, and freedom, in and of itself, can make one happy.
I am reminded of two old sayings... "Money can't buy happiness, but you will be miserable in style with it." And "Money can't buy happiness, but you it will let you rent it."
This last year has been the worst financial year I've had since I was 19... sadly a very long time ago indeed. I've spent my life savings supporting my mother after my father passed away, paying off their debts (timeshares are evil folks), and trying to fix the family home. All while moving from a top 5 nicest place to live (Fayetteville) to a place that is in no danger of making such a list.
And I've been miserable as hell doing it. The only time in my life I've felt worse then this last year was when I went through a year long struggle with my inner ear imbalance and sank into a major depression.
Money is not the only thing that matters in life, but financial stability means a lot more then you might think it does when you suddenly don't have it anymore.

Money does not buy happiness. However, the lack of money (financial stability) is the number one cause of martial issues.

Depends on your personality. If you constantly need new things to be happy, then probably so.
I need money to be secure, I need experiences and relationships to make me happy.

You do realize that the only reason money has value is that people have confidence that it has value, right? There’s nothing backing it. It’s paper.

False.
Money gives you a better chance at happiness, but it doesn’t guarantee it.

Do you need multiple reasons for it be valuable?
If it’s valuable then it’s valuable. Who cares why? Are you predicting it will lose its value anytime soon?

Whether true or not, there is a statistic that over 75k a year in the US, the percent of happiness does not change.

My father is a very successful banker and we were very comfortable when i was growing up. Even so he was not happy at all and I saw him go through several marriages in my formative years. Taught me from a very early age that money isn't nearly as important in life as some make it out to be.
