Never. Indianapolis meant Steak n Shake to me.
It’s not like I had a lot of choice in the matter-I wasn’t old enough to drive.
Apparently there’s a Culver’s in a town I will be visiting over Independence Day. I guess I know where I’ll be eating.

A great Illinois gift to the rest of the country - Steak n Shake.
There are quite a few small well known burger joints around here as well.
The Original Burger King - Mattoon, IL. The newer, more popular resturant chain isnt allowed within a certian distance
Also, one of my favorites to get a nice Strawberry Milkshake from is Kreckles in Mt. Zion/Decatur. They supposedly just opened up their third location in Champaign last week.

Fudruckers is up there. I rember eating at one in the late 80’s in Austin, TX and was surprised that such places existed.
