I missed this! So...youre telling me i have another reason to dislike him as if I needed another.

Oh and I can't forget about Tim Kurkjian. I'm not as big on MLB as most sports but it's hard not to love him. Super nice guy and is an absolute baseball encyclopedia

Never heard of the guy until he decided to call out LSU Gymnastics for their feelgood billboard. Not impressed.

I can't stomach Dick Vitale.

Or women sportscasters doing men's sports.

Why is that?
Is it an experience thing?

Do you think all play by play guys as well should play sports?

Plus category
Todd Blackledge with almost anybody except Joe Tessitore on a college football game. I still like Al Michaels, though Cris Collinsworth is unbearable. I like Tony Romo. And I like Scott Van Pelt.

Minus category
Almost all of ESPN's talking heads, including Dick Vitale, Screamin' A. Smith, Tony Kornheiser, Michael Wilbon, Max Kellerman. Vitale has jumped to the top with all of his hypocritical remarks about Will Wade as he defends Bill Self, Rick Pitino, Coach K, Roy Williams, Tom Izzo, etc.

Also, Rece Davis makes this list when he became a little defensive bitch during the Devin White fiasco last year as some of his colleagues rightfully called out the SEC for its lack of transparency. And Tessitore is an unbearable game show host on Monday Night Football.

Jim Nantz makes me want to punch people.

And finally, Troy Aikman may be the single-dumbest person on sports TV now that Jason Witten went back to the Cowboys. Aikman does an excellent job of using the words "excellent" and "good job of" a lot without adding a damn thing.

Retired Plus Category
Pat Summerall and Verne Lundquist. Two of the best PBP guys ever to call football and pleasant to listen to for three-plus hours.

I just don't watch many of the day or night time sports shows any more. I watched them a lot back in the 90's when Sports Center was its prime with Dan Patrick, Keith Olbermann, Craig Kilborn, etc.

CNN also had a great night time sports show, CNN Sports Tonight, back in the 90's until the early 2000's, with guys like Vince Cellini, Nick Charles, Fred Hickman and Van Earl Wright.

But, that was back when the networks kept politics and social commentary mostly out of their nightly sports highlight broadcasts.

End of old man rant.

Verne... don't miss him calling out wrong names or describing something that clearly didn't happen on the field. I swear I saw him throw out 3 or 4 possibilities on a play once, and literally 0 of them actually occurred. All of you who liked him can eat a bag of dicks
