Watch this.

My magic trick is that I can take Sarge and make him refuse to tell me he believes a bible verse. I guarentee he won't say yes. All he has to say is "yes".

Sarge, do you believe this bible verse is true?

(Regarding a girl and premarital sex)
quote:

Deuteronomy 22: 20-21
20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

People are mad at ISIS for stoning woman. They're only taking what their holy books say literally. What's the problem? You guys say you believe the bible. I'm giving sarge a chance to say he believes it.

1: You just replied to yourself. Wake the hell up.
2: I'm not one of "you guys".
3: Islamist douchebags are actually (as opposed to figuratively as described in an ancient book) stoning women. See the difference?
4: Your post is full of spelling and grammatical errors, because you suck.

Most religions haves always been about the interpretation of their beliefs/texts. In a primarily Christian-heavy society, we don't cut the hands off thieves or kill divorcees. Some Christian churches have chosen to allow the marriages of same-sex couples in their churches because of their interpretation of the Bible, while others condemn it. ISIS declared Ramadan as one of the "bloodiest periods" using their interpretation of the Quran but Mainstream Muslims believe Ramadan is at time of peace and ISIS is in direct violation of that.

For some sects of Christianity, they believe the Bible should be accepted word for word. A lot do not. Your "calling out" is pretty silly when you consider that.

And sarge is a man who believes the good book is true from cover to cover and is to be followed as the very word of God.. All he has to do is say yes or no.

Exactly, and apparently Stacked just doesnt understand that that God has evolved through out time, to meet the people's wishes for that God to evolve with the way they now see things.

Because they actually follow their holy book, unlike followers of the Bible.

Pretty simple. He's mad at God. IIRC, in one of his many troll threads he blamed the church for a failed relationship (marriage?).

Isn't that unusual, but most people don't put their anger out for all the world to see.

Ok. I'm sorry Tbird, sorry for assuming sarge wouldn't stone a girl for premarital sex as the bible he says he believes cover to cover tells him to. What about you? Do you agree with stoning girls who have had sex before marriage? Yes or no?

Then why can't you say yes or no? It's simple. Do you believe the verse is the word of God and should be followed? Yes or no?

This is pretty easily explained. I don't have the knowledge or the time to look up specific verses to prove this but the jist is. When Jesus came and was crucified that was the permanent sacrifice for our sins. He established a new and more direct connection to God that didn't exist in the Old Testament. We no longer have to have a priest make sacrifices on our behalf for the sins that we commit. Because of this the laws of the Jews no longer is necessary.

Deuteronomy was written in or around the 7th century BC. Christianity was based off of Christ obviously. There is nothing in the Catholic church or any Protestant religion that says that we must live based off the Old Testament. Some scholars have even said that the 10 Commandments isn't a must to follow as a Christian.

ETA: I don't believe that about the Commandments. Jesus repeated many times to live by them and honor them.

What you're tryin to talk about is the "new covenant." Which to let you in on my blueprint of where I'm gonna take this, I hope that is what this turns to next. Because that shows the inconsistency of the God of the bible. Either Jesus is God or he isn't. If he is, then he 100% was the Old Testament God. If he was the Old Testament God, he changed. God doesn't change.
