Those were my thoughts before opening this thread, and it worked.

I thought you were "free". You're still sounding like that ex-girlfriend who claims to have moved on, but won't stop bashing her ex bf. Quit fooling yourself.

I would ask Sarge if he believes Israelite girls should be stoned. If he says yes to that, he can have the argument.

Again, the answer is no. Make your point sooner than later.

He won't say no (or yes for that matter). And I'm asking him, not you, cause I know what he believes and I have no idea who you are.

Why do you lie to everyone about me not responding? My responses are here in this thread for all to read. They are also on the other thread for all to read.

Have you been drinking today?

Place is blowing up to pieces with new great restaurants and unique bars opening seemingly weekly. I love this town. Miss the Delta Queen docked at Coolidge but that's about my only complaint.

i'll take it as you passed over me posting this the first time - Sarge, as a Crhistian, does not believe what you are asking and i'll copy and paste as to why

"i dont have all the answers but you are only looking at half of the book. pretty sure somewhere in the new test. that the old test laws are essentially "moot" because of what he said/did/accomplished. i'm the furthest thing from a bible thumper but at least make sure you arent arguing, once again, a moot argument

ETA from a simple google search: Hebrews 8:6 and Hebrews 8:13 would be the applicable verse to this situation.

ETA again: Christians do not have to keep the law of Moses because those laws were a temporary package, designed to be in force only until the Messiah came. Now that he has come and given us a better covenant, the first is obsolete."

you must be new to atheism or not the brightest crayon in the box if this is what you are arguing.

Didn't ask if you thought it was great. I asked do you believe the bible in it's entirety. Meaning including that we should stone girls for premarital sex, among other things.

If you would read the whole thread, you would know that I love nothing more than the sweet distance Christians try to make between them and the Old Testament. Sorry, should've thought about that when you piggybacked someone else religion and now realize you're stuck with it no matter how many new covenants you can come up with.

And this isn't about what's still or not applicable to Christians from the Old Testament. It's about the consistancy of God, you know, the one that never changes. And if God never changes, we deserve answers for this stoning people bullshite.

Y'all can't have it both ways. Y'all got in bed with the Old Testament after you stole the Jews religion. You can't take it, say it no longer applies, introduce new cast of characters, and then say God feels differently about things now. That's called creating your religion as you go.

Mosaic law was temporary from the get go and any jew or christian that knows their history will tell you that. Mosaic law was only applicable until the Messiah came and created a new covenant (which Jesus did). Christians did not piggy back anything - Christianity is the extension of Judaism that believes that the Judaic prophecies were fulfilled. God stayed consistent and did what he said - temporary mosaic law until the savior comes. what part of that isnt consistent?

Make jokes about your bible. A non Christian is asking what you believe and you're avoiding the opportunity to side with what the bible says. You're denying an opportunity to side with God's word and trying to mask it by uncomfortably playing and joking because you know you can't agree with the bible on this topic.

Sarge, you're dishonest, but more importantly, a bad Christian. If you deny God in front of me, he will deny you on your judgment day. I hope he makes a joke about you like you made about his bible. You were asked a simple question. Do you believe god's word in Deuteronomy 22: 20-21. You disclaimed God's word by not saying "yes". It's all you had to say. "Yes, I believe we should stone girls who have premarital sex."

Interesting, I wonder if the words "new covenant" have been mentioned anywhere in this thread before this.

Christianity is the extension of Judaism.

Interesting. I wonder how the Jews feel about that. Probably the same as if a thousand years from now someone took Christianity, said they're extending from it and having a new covenant from God, third testament to the bible and a new messiah. I bet Christians would be okay with that and get on board.
