We didn’t want to have another drug like everyone else that would give relief to some cancer patients and then the cancer would come back. We wanted really to cure something like antibiotics,” AEBi CEO Dr. Ilan Morad tells CBN News.
The Israeli scientists studied why previous cancer drugs failed. One reason why cancer drugs fail is because they only attack one specific target in or on one cancer cell at a time. Mutations in the cancer cells make the anti-cancer drugs ineffective.

lHowever, their treatment known as MuTaTo, or multi-target toxin, would use several cancer-targeting peptides on a single cancer cell at once, along with a cancer-destroying toxin.
Hope this winds up working. I do wonder how much it will cost

Also the company CEO makes clear he doesn’t care about money, that he just wants to cure cancer patients.

I like how the strategy is just nuke it

It would be nice... but when folks started digging into this claim some cause for concern pops up.
They haven't moved past initial mouse tests yet, which is a problem because many a technique that "cures" cancer in a lab mouse doesn't work when you scale it up and try to tackle humans and larger animals. Only about 3.5% of trials that make it past initial mouse testing go on to become successful cancer treatments.
Also cancer is a catch all name for hundreds of different diseases and abnormalities. Something that cures all of them without serious side effects is unlikely. I can, for example, completely kill any cancer cells in the body... if I stick the patient in an incinerator and burn them down to ashes. Its probably not going to be a popular treatment.
Now, am I saying this definitely doesn't work? No. Heck I hope it does work. I lost my father to the side effects of cancer (they had to remove most of one his lungs and that lead to fluid build up on the heart over time) and given my family history its not a question of will I get cancer but when will I get cancer and how bad will it be?
For now, I'd suggest being cautiously optimistic about this and other cutting edge research projects but don't get your hopes up too high.

Actually that doesn't even work. There are cancer cells alive in a lab from a patient who died years ago

This. When I hear anyone claim that they have a “cure” for “cancer,” I take that claim as dubious.

Decades ago actually. HeLa has been around since 1951 and its rapid production of cells was a big assist in helping Salk develop a Polio vaccine. There have been something like 50 million metric tons of HeLa cells grown.

Yeah, I'm going to take that with a grain of salt.

I'll start your thread on the Help Board.

I thought this was a strong pro Israel board. Are you implying it's not

Agree. Lets wait and see how the new drug performs on humans.

Cancer cells are just regular cells that have lost the controls on their growth. Their "suicide gene" has been turned off by some environmental factor. Human cells will divide between 50-70 times before cell death. As the cell divides the telomeres on the end of the chromosome get smaller.
This doesn't happen when a cell becomes cancerous. The Hela cells that Arksulli mentioned are immortal in that they will never die from just multiplying. The same thing happens when body cells become cancerous. They will continue to divide until the person dies and nutrition is no longer available to them. Their unfettered growth is usually the reason for the person's death.
A lot of research is devoted to turning back on the growth controls of cancer cells. That would be the ideal treatment for cancer. Treatments today still try to kill the cells without damaging healthy cells. Chemicals, radiation and the new immune reaction therapies are our current best efforts.
Chemo therapy is still the common treatment. It's very rough on the body. So rough that the saying, "He didn't die from the cancer, he died from the treatment," is still popular.
Radiation is still used but less than before because of its extreme effects. Very targeted applications can still be beneficial but they're usually reserved for last-ditch scenarios.
Immuno-therapy uses the body's natural defenses to attack cancer cells. You've probably seen Keytruda commercials. LINK
The idea of a "cure all" for cancer is highly suspicious and will require a lot of peer review for authentication. Many times in the past people have claimed to have found a cure, only to be washed away when the scientific method is applied. Time will tell for this one, too.

If it's in the Wal-Mart pharmacy any time soon, it will likely be a reasonable price.
