quote:

A situation in which one race maintains supremacy over another race through a set of attitudes, behaviors, social structures and ideologies. It involves four essential and interconnected elements:

Power: the capacity to make and enforce decisions is disproportionately or unfairly distributed

Resources: unequal access to such resources as money, education, information, etc.

Standards: standards for appropriate behavior are ethnocentric, reflecting and privileging the norms and values of the dominant race/society

Problem: involves defining "reality" by naming "the problem" incorrectly, and thus misplacing it.

Whose made up that definition?

You ignored this also:

the belief that some races of people are better than others

And here is the oxford dictionary's

Racism

quote:

NOUN 1Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior:

Just because some minority racist made up a new definition in the 1960's doesn't make it a real definition. Sorry.

discrimination

Define that and when you get to unjust treatment, stop and think what that means

Again... Treatment is power... you keep placing definitions with terms of inherent power within them thus proving my point over and over

I keep giving you definitions from the dictionary.

You ignore several other words to focus on that one.

Sorry you disagree with them so fiercely.

You keep trying to make the power systemic when any one can kill another. Is that enough power for you?

Take it up with Mr Webster and the good people of Oxford, England.

The whole point of the debate is that the original post was bigotry not racism

Believing your race is better than another's is ethnocentrism

Hating a race for their perceived faults is prejudice

Extreme prejudice is bigotry

Forcing your bigotry upon another person in an unjust way (through discrimination(unjust treatment)) is racism

I'm sorry all dictionaries disagree with you. I will ask a third time, where did you get your definition? Is it a secret or something?

All dictionaries don't disagree with me... not even close

Have another look at your baby webster

webster racism

There we go with treatment again... tell me how can you do something without the ability (power) to do so

Webster's definition of racism:

belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

Why are using definitions of bigotry and bigot in a discussion about the definition of racism?
