eta- depending on taxes.. I may could break even and be completely debt free if I did.

I've no doubt I could continue in my line of work with another company, just wouldn't have the freedoms I have now of setting my own schedule and stuff. That's really main thing that prevents me from doing. I hate working for others. My way is always better. lol

Yeah I hear ya. I am fortunate in that I pretty much get to run my jobs my way, only get told to do things differently on very few occasions.

Well, even as I've worked for myself . . . you are always working for someone. Or providing a service for someone. The cool thing is just taking off when you want and making your own schedule.

I interviewed for a job in Florida last week and was asked how I was going to transition from working for myself to working for someone. I made up some BS (similar to the above) but didn't really believe it.

Not sure how I would do it. I'm used to taking off to go fishing any time I want. We'll see, if I take the job, if offered.

Was really that way my previous job. I just have always had difficulty following someone elses lead. I prefer to do things the way I think they should be done. Sometimes that bites me in that I don't always charge what I should.. but I believe in doing what I feel is right rather than profitable sometimes. I hate feeling like I've ripped someone off or not given them what they pay for. It's hampered me in my growth sometimes, but I lay my head down at night never worrying that I screwed someone or worried I didn't do someone right.

No doubt. Go from one boss, to everyone is your boss basically.

This freedom is what's keeping me from doing anything.

Yeah doing things the right way is the only way and when you consider that most of what I build can kill people if not done right it leaves little room for error.

I hear ya. I handle pesticides daily, while not likely lethal in most cases.. have to be careful not to create a problem with health. My biz as is, is a result of probably 70% word of mouth after spending more than I should have advertising over the years. Nothing beats good service and happy customers.
