You're a turfgrass guy? I've got several buddies in undergrad that are going that direction.
I'm in fisheries. Should be making a decision this summer on what route I'm going to take with that specifically.

I haven't failed a class ever in my life. I'm not sure who would be more pissed at me-my parents or myself.

I was biology undergrad at Alabama. Originally was pre-dental (both parents are dentists), but it wasn't for me. Started taking some plant bio courses, and volunteered at a golf course practice facility back home. Decided to start looking at turfgrass and figured I could try at grad school.
Miss State offered me a nice assistantship so I came here.

That's pretty cool. I take it you want to manage courses, or would you be open to working with other venues?

Most likely I want to be a superintendent at a golf course, but I could be open to other venues. Taking care of a college's sports turf or working at a pro franchise would be cool, wouldn't want anything smaller than that. But my research is golf course based, so that is the most likely route.
Sod farm, fertilizer company, or something else is possible too. Lots of opportunities.
Not totally ruling out getting my PhD and just continuing research.
