count me in for one with, "everybody has an iphone" not downgrading the quality of it. it's solid, but it's kind of a vanilla phone.
i'd do an htc one variant or galaxy s3. orrrr droid razr maxx/dna

Also in the market for a new phone (supposed to upgrade in march). Have a "dumbphone" now, so any kind of smart phone will be a major upgrade for me.
Wifey's pushing hard for me to get a iPhone since that's what she's got, but I wanted to look around a bit. My top two right now are iPhone and Galaxy S3.

Depends on how big of a screen you want. Droid rzr maxx has bigger screen than Iphone and an awesome battery. Iphone is a little smaller but a solid phone. I have had bad experince with HTC

Samsung Galaxy SIII or Galaxy Note 2 if you want something bigger.

My carrier is Sprint but I'm not opposed to converting that either when my contact is up. I bet Sprint has shitty service in podunk Minnesota.
I want that Galaxy thing amajig. I've read some good reviews on here and the other interwebz.

I have normal to small hands myself. I don't have any trouble using my s3 one handed with an otter box commuter series case on it.
My SO has the note2, I want that phone bad. The screen, and the things you can do with the S pen are awesome.

Is the NoteII that much better than the SIII in your opinion? They look pretty similar to me (phone newb), but I've heard far more positive chatter about the SIII. Just curious.

The Note is fricking huge...I felt like I was holding an iPad to my face. Not my style.

What carrier are all of these through?

I'm wanting a bigger screen, so I don't think the size will matter as much for me. Don't make a ton of calls anyway. Not enough for it to be a nuisance.

I've had a few and have the 4s now. I've been pretty pleased with them.

Same phone, except screen size and the S pen. I do way more texting and playing around on my phone than talking and most of my talking is done with ear buds in.
The jellybean upgrade to the OS has some really cool features.
DC is correct in that it feels like a tablet when holding it to your ear.
I am on ATT.

Mrs. Tbird absolutely loves her iPhone4S
I might get it after all, but exploring all my options first. She wants me to get the 4S primarily to do FaceTime, but I'm pretty sure both phones can get the Skype app, so that's a wash IMO.

You have to be on wifi to do face time, unless something changed recently.

Is the S pen that big of a deal? Is it specific to the Note or can you use that phone just fine without the pen? Also, I'm guessing there's probably some sort of stylus you can buy to use with the S3 if you want?
Apologies for all the questions--y'all are really a big help, though
ETA: So you can actually do FaceTime on the Note and S3?
