which would you buy? Not cheap but not something only a billionaire would buy- a nice, good, safe, sporty or luxury (ish) one????

No crossovers need apply.

We came very close to getting my wife a Volvo XC90 before going with the VW Alltrack wagon. It was a nice vehicle.

Those are pretty, as are the x5's by bmw. It's going to be hard because with my work, I use my vehicle for toting stuff to and fro and while my current vehicle (which may have had it's last mile this morning, possibly rip) was a nice vehicle, it was getting old. There's something nice about a vehicle when you're not worried about tossing stuff in it and messing it up. Argh.

Ha I'm 'building' one online right now. Not saying that's the winner but it's going to end up top 3 at least I'm sure.

I enjoyed my wife's 2015 explorer when we had it new. Grand Cherokees are nice, but not worth the price we've had 2 of those. I'm a Chevy guy, but I wouldn't spend the money on a Tahoe.

I love Jeep's (I know how typical) and one of my best friends has a Cherokee right now and loves it. That's a possibility too.

I thought Cherokees don't have much longevity

My wife loves them too. We had a beautiful red 2008 grand Cherokee. I wasn't too keen on the front windshield frame. Seemed like it was in my face and took up a lot of my view.

Maybe get the SRT Grand Cherokee

Those are expensive though.

Nah not rich, not broke- I guess you'd say I'm comfortable??? That's a nice word. Honestly, if I went bmw or one of those brands, I'd probably get a slightly used one, because I'm just not that fancy.

The new GM body style on the enclave, acadia, traverse are pretty nice. The GMC and buick have some great features. Ford Explorer, then the mid and top volvo platforms are all good

Those are all pretty. I just don't know that I could drive a buick tho- even with Matthew McC being their spokesman. I'm too old for it to not be an old person's car.

I have a Land Rover LR4 and really enjoy it. My wife had an Acura MDX for about ten years and it was a great vehicle. She now has a Volvo XC90 and loves it.

He is Lincoln.

I said the same thing, but got a really good deal on an enclave, almost went with the GMC version though. Although I am more of fan of the explorer

I've owned a lot of SUV's over the last 3 decades, including two 4Runners. I never had a single mechanical issue with either. They were excellent vehicles, and I wouldn't hesitate to own another.

If you were looking for a crossover, then a Highlander is an excellent choice...but he specifically said "no crossovers need apply"...hence, the 4Runner.
