If you had to live in Mississippi or Alabama, which would you choose?

Both states are terrible, we can all admit. Neither has much to offer anyone and their infrastructures are awful. But if you had to choose, which one would you live in and why (football cannot be a reason)?

Mississippi has casinos and Memphis isn't too far, but Alabama has nicer beaches. Tough choice, but sadly, I would have to go with Mississippi, but probably somewhere between Biloxi and New Orleans so I wouldn't be far from stuff.

What say the rant? I know. It's a tough choice.

This is a dumb question, but are bama beaches nice? When I think of coastal states, bama isnt one of them.

Alabama has mountains, awesome beaches, great bouldering spots, great fishing, and Mobile and Birmingham are infinitely better than any Mississippi city.

Bama's gulf coast is one of the nicest in the country. That alone trumps anything Mississippi has to offer. Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile also throw some extra credit into the equation, to go along with the mountains in north Alabama.

I didn't say they were nice, just nicer. Although, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are nice. I would still pick Mississippi though.

First, it's no contest, Alabama is a far superior state to Mississippi. Birmingham is actually a decent mid sized city, and Mississippi has nothing to compare at all.

Second, I'd live in the Auburn area, Fairhope/Daphne area or Birmingham over the large majority of places in Florida.

Disclosure: I don't live in Alabama.

Birmingham is a dump. I'll give you Huntsville, though. Mobile is meh -- reminds me of Jacksonville.

You ever been to Mississippi? It's a third-world country there. I don't think the two states are even close.

I have lived in both and both are OK. Probably preferred my time in Alabama just because it was closer to home in Florida.

I grew up in Selma, AL which is one of the shittier cities in the state

I currently reside in oak grove just outside of Hattiesburg, MS which as far as shite to do goes, is one of the better cities in the state.

Give me Alabama all day.

No, it's not. When was the last time you were in Birmingham? That place has basically been completely renovated. It's actually very nice.

Still better than anything Mississippi has, and I'm not a huge fan of the state of Alabama.

Given the choice, I would live in Diamondhead, MS.

Right on the LA-MS state line, and I could still receive all the New Orleans radio/television stations. Also, if I didn't feel like attending any of the home games, I wouldn't miss any on FOX 8.

Yeah, any time someone says that Birmingham sucks and is a dump, I assume they haven't been in the past 5 or 6 years.
