Worst shite ever.

I expect legalization to happen across the board in the next 5 years, as more data is deciphered and people realize it was never the monster propaganda portrayed it to be (well that and states trying to balance budget shortfalls). Hopefully that will mean pardons for all marijuana drug offenders, ultimately leading to our prisons having zero non-violent drug offenders.

I don't expect it within five years. Alabama and Mississippi ate going to take at least ten. And in the south, it'll be about money and budget shortfalls. There's no doubt powerful southerners have seem a billion dollar industry develop overnight in Colorado. They'll be some sketchy deals worked out, to keep as few people involved as possible. But eventually money will talk.

The main thing is not going crazy with the sin tax. I've heard Washington's black market is still strong from am absurdly high tax. Colorado has a small one, but it's basically dead. You gotta know someone if you're going to buy it on the black market.

@CCTider
Wow, great questions. I'll answer in the order that you asked.

1. So I'm assuming you are doing an outdoor grow. The 1 gallon to 10 gallon idea is perfect, ONLY if you transplant your healthy 1 gallon into a 5 gallon pot for a month or so. The 1 gallon root ball being transplanted into a 10 gallon medium isn't ideal, because the root ball is still a little small. So overall, the 10 gallon felt pot is what you want, just give your ladies a home in a 5 gallon for a bit.

2. Your soil is a good soil. Over the the past 2 years, I've learned that people are over-complicating the "growing" of the cannabis plant. That being said, you can always benefit from a microbial solution to help sturdy root growth. Golden Tree has shown success in the past, Roots Excelurator is great, Floralicious is also very good. Pricey, but worth using it in conjunction with your 50/50 soil. A little secret you ask? EARTHWORMS. Trust me. Throw 10-15 of those suckers in your 10 gallon upon transplanting.

3. Watering. You'll come to know your plant and when it does and doesn't need water. If it's bone dry and the leaves droop, then yeah, water it. If the pot looks wet, and the leaves "eagle claw" (curling under at the tips), then it's over watered, chill. Get this in your head: When the soil is dry, the roots grow and search for water, in turn making their roots bigger and stronger. You're "manipulating and teasing" your plants in the moSt loving way possible haha. I water 1 liter per 1 gallon pot. So a 5 gallon pot would get 5 liters of water. This has shown countless times an adequate "run-off" of water draining out of the pot, which is what you want. Another big thing with water is make sure it's pH balanced. Depending on your strain, you want to keep the range of 5.8-6.5 pH balance.

People out here swear by collecting rain water and watering with that. Another way to stay as organic as possible.

4. If you are bringing your outdoor plants inside because of weather, and they are in their vegetative state (it's april), then bring them into a room that's fairly sterile and clean, that has fluorescent lighting. Ideally, you'd have fluorescent bulbs as close as possible to the plant for 18 hours on, 6 hours off. For instance, you bring your clones inside for a couple of days. Turn your lights on at 6am and leave them on until midnight. And have COMPLETE darkness during its sleeping hours, no light leaks.

5. Last but not least, pesticides. The most organic way is to make your own at home, which you can search on the internet for. It's basically garlic, water, vinegar, cinnamon and milk in an array of different combination. Those really do help with powdery mildew which you'll inevitably get lol. But if you are going to purchase a pesticide that's safe and effective, then go with Einstein Oil. It's neem oil, with garlic and peanut oil thrown in. How it works? It tricks your bugs/pests into thinking they are "full" and literally starve to death. Careful though, do not use it after your 3rd week of flower.

Shew, gat damn, I haven't typed that much shite in a long time. Hoped it helped. Wasn't exactly in the order you asked, haha. This Chocolate Kush is doing a great job

One of the biggest thing with growing is learning sensitivity to phototropoid period. Say you're giving your plants 18 hours of light inside per daycand then place then outside where they're only getting 12 hours, they will going into flowering. The closer to June 21 the longer the days. We're still 9 weeks out and still slowly ramping up the daily increases of light.

Dr earth is pretty reasonable stuff, but I wouldn't shy away from $150-250 a yard soil, especially premixed and only needing 1 lol. You could meet some invaluable contacts this way too, dudes with experience... in your area.

MoarKilometers, you should check out my Instagram to see some pictures. Me and three dudes from Tennessee literally were the first people in the door to this place. It's been a surreal experience. Our first harvests were 10 gallons on flood tables, we had 1,200 plants that time around. Now we are trying out SCROG and have perpetual harvests. Every week, we harvest over 2,000 plants. It's massive, and people really don't believe me.

Instagram is @andysavo

Here's my buddy last year. This is just 1 Bay. There's 7 Bays in one Zone. There's 4 Zones.

Thanks, and to you too Moar. That's some great info. I think we're getting only 12-13 hours of daylight in Colorado. I can find some fluorescent lights yo use for a couple days, until the snow rolls through. It'll probably be 70 again by Monday.

Haha I actually could, if you were willing to move out to the desert, population of 300. And work your arse off.

Funny, I live about 20 mins from the border of Mexico. Border Patrol is everywhere

Edit: Meant to ask where you live CCTider, makes sense now. Yeah be careful not to confuse your babies with 18 on. Imitate the suns light cycle if you can.

But doesn't that beg the question: how has it been growing for thousands of years outdoor, where the moon and starlight are ever present?? Hmmmmm

How much of your product gets used for concentrates?

Have you seen an increase,in demand for concentrates recently?

92% jellybean in Oregon was the shite, and no tax!

Me and two buddies (also from Tennessee) are working on entering the industry. I'm the only non-experienced grower. Are you looking at just needing warm bodies or can I learn from you?

Yeah, I'll mirror it and keep whatever lights I can find on it. Two days shouldn't be the end of the world.

To be devil's advocate, mother nature didn't make it with 25%+ thc percentages.

There's growing it, and then growing it to where my picky arse will want to smoke it.

I'm not sure if y'all make it where you're working, but do you know anything about making rosin? It's a felony to make your item solvent extracted concentrates, but rosin seems like a good option for the home extractors

For a smaller home guy I'd look into "bubble bags" Basically you're using ice and water to freeze and break off trichomes. Solventless solution with minimal requirements. Basically you need trim/popcorn, ice, water, 5 gallon bucket, bags, electric egg beater = profit.

Personally I'm saving my pennies for a co2 extract machine. Looking at 15-20k there, but I really can tax on it... and hide pounds in ounces. The medical edibles market is where I want to niche.

Got a buddy there who was a ski instructor for twenty years ... now he owns a lodge there.

That whole area is one of the most beautiful areas in the country.

A few weeks ago I was at a reunion with some of my old military buddies up around lake Watuaga in eastern Tennessee and partook for the first time in decades ... they were these caramel chews.

Damn, I was stoned for 24 hours .... even the next day.

I do not know how young people can do the modern herb every day like they do and not go through life totally wasted.

Another of my old military buddies is a full time grower in California. He specializes in something called Bluberry ... or Bluberry Moon maybe? He's made a mint growing the stuff.

The black market is still pretty strong but they've improved the tax from 25% at three levels(grower, store, consumer) to 37% once at the consumer level. I'm finally seeing $20 eighths at the rec store. The main issue, to me, is the fact that it has to be sealed before it comes to the store, so the buds are all dried out. Until they fix that, I'll continue buying medical or from a grower I know. I do buy my concentrates and edibles from the rec stores, though. It's nice to have all the lab test info printed on the packaging and not worrying about what's in it.
