You can smoke the peace pipe until your dick falls off, but I am not dancing with any fricking wolves no matter how high I get. Not that I get high, but if I did my shite would still believe in our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Well, it’s hardly the Westminster Confession but it’s still a stirring statement of faith.

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is I'm not. i honestly just feel that America is the best country and all the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called 'patriotism'.

All religions are identical, they’re made up.

There have been many comebacks throughout history: Jesus was dead, but then came back as an all-powerful God zombie; Ryan O'Neal had his ups and downs, but is now back and better than ever. Well, my comeback is almost complete, and I can say that when it is complete, it will shake the pillars of this land or town. My story is the story of a raging Christ figure who tore himself off the cross and looked at the Romans, with blood in his eyes, and said, My turn now, cocksuckers.

It can be about that, at least until paperwasp gets here and realizes what this thread is. He'll be posting gifs and quotes all over the place.

I was expecting a story. Like “I never bought into it… then this happened”

The symbols we use to express math are also made up.

The understanding behind them is not.

Knowledge of the holy is understanding.

If math wasn't made up, everyone would have the same symbols?

If language wasn't made up, everyone would have the same language?

And yet, somehow you can use any symbol you want for math and the understanding behind it never changes. And we can have 1000 different ways to label a tree, and yet the understanding it represents the same tree never changes.

A rose by any other name still smells the same.

Those are terrible analogies. Math is discoverable by any intelligent species anywhere in the universe. It’s a universal language, but the symbols are human-made. The symbols differ, but the concept is the same everywhere. Math describes patterns and relationships that exist independently of how we write them.

Language is similar. The word “water” in English, “agua” in Spanish, and “eaux” in French all refer to the same substance. The languages are made by humans, but the things they describe are real and consistent.

That is not the case with religion. The basis for religion is the “supernatural,” meaning it isn’t real. It exists only as concepts within the human brain.

They would seem useless and seem made up if you didn't understand them. It's only because you have understanding of math that they are useful.

You have no understanding of God/Holy. So you are "poor in spirit" and thus you feel anything related to it is thus useless and made up.

That which is spirit is spirit, and that which is flesh is flesh. Or in a modern terms, that which is consciousness is consciousness and that which is physical is physical.

God is not part of the creation, God is spirit/consciousness and beyond creation. The alpha and omega. Without God there is no reality, there is no understanding, there is no free will, there is nothing but action and reaction like mindless machines. Because what is creation without something to experience it?

Do you try to find Leonardo in the Mona Lisa? Do you look for Bill Gates inside your Windows OS? Yet for some reason you feel "intelligent" people should be able to find God in the creation/universe and thus provable in the physical. It's not.

Your soul/consciousness is a piece of God. Of which has been limited in order to have the experiences we call life. Now, if you are rich in spirit then you will have a strong connection to God in spirit, and in that you can gain understanding about these things. If you are poor in spirit, you do not see it etc.

So as I said - knowledge of the holy is understanding. It's not something you can physically prove anymore than you can prove Leonardo existed using only the Mona Lisa. At best we can only see what was created.

So yeah, until you have understanding it will probably not mean much. If you ever gain understanding, then it's like going from being a person who is incapable of doing simple math to being someone who is capable of doing advanced math.

I find the basic understandings behind most religions to be universal. I understand what Jesus and others are saying.

I learned everything I know outside religion. ALL OF IT. However, after I gained understanding I recognized the same understanding being told in religions and in the words of Jesus. I still don't claim to belong to any religion, but to say ti's all made up and such is just wrong.

You think you are just flesh and physical? You are not. If you try to define yourself it's always something you posses. Your brain, your arm, etc. What is possessing it?

Ever play a video game? You're doing the exact same thing. You're entering a world in which you are limited and bound to the rules created for that game universe in order to have that experience. Are you your character in that video game? No,and you are aware of it. Well imagine if you entered into that video game and had no memory prior. You'd accept the reality as presented to you. If anyone came into that video game and told you - hey man, there is more to it, you aren't just your character here - you'd ask them to prove it inside that game and call them crazy, say they were making it up.

The creator could make his own character and try to explain things to you - and you would call the creator himself crazy. And then you'd probably kill them based on our own history.

I can go on for days. I think any intelligent species should be able to not only recognize God, but if you can't understand that you will eventually just as a species kill yourself off as your technology advances beyond your spirituality.

I agree, man.

I do love the high from marijuana and the taste of alcohol, but I avoid each.
