It’s pretty wild here in El Dorado. Haven’t had power for over an hour. Trees falling everywhere. Crazy to see a tropical system still this strong in Arkansas.

We got off easy in BR. I didn't even lose power.

I just checked damage reports in Lake Charles LA and Port Arthur TX
FEMA reports 2 Million dollars of improvements to both cities.

Power has been out since 4am. Very strong winds here in Alexandria. Trees down etc. I think it's passed us now.
ETA: oh yeah, my power lines are down. Let's see how many days it takes to fix

My experience is it will be at least three days, probably more. Hang in there.

You say that now, but a couple of nights without AC and you will be ready to come down hard on the power company.

My daughter lost power for about 12 hrs in prarieville yesterday. Came back on about 10:00 pm last night. Said it was due to a downed tree. Had to stop traffic on I10 for some reason to fix the downed line.

It's raining corn dogs in Little Rock and I'm out of mustard.

I'll probably head to some family or friends that have power. Not sitting here for a week no power

We ended up nowhere near where Laura hit. I am about 100 miles as the crow flies from the border. And yet we have rolling brownouts and no power for most of the day with temps 100+.

Why does Houston have rolling brownouts? It is supposed to be 103 today in Dallas, so glad we don't have that shite.

It was the Woodlands and I think it has to do with our grid being down in East Tx so everyone was on the one in Willis and they didn’t want overload it. Some BS like that.

Oh nice, so everyone installed natural gas generators and they're robbing each other's gas supply.

Most of East Baton Rouge Parish was out of power for 3-4 weeks following Katrina, then lost it again right after Rita hit.
Hurricane Gustav comes around in 2008. In between those two storms, some enterprising contractors rolled through the country club of Louisiana and started selling natural gas powered backup generators. No problem, right? They live in the country club, they can throw down $20k a pop to not lose a beat when the power goes out. Nobody actually ever thought about the natural gas supply.
So Gustav comes through, everybody loses power, and the generators are rolling on and off because there's not enough natural gas.
